‘RHOA’: NeNe Leakes Speaks On Possibility of Attending Cynthia Bailey’s Wedding
We’re not sure if viewers would still be watching The Real Housewives franchise if the conflict was absent. Tune to Bravo to watch the women in any of their cities and you’ll see arguments, catfights, tears, and hurt feelings. But if there’s one particular beef fans are paying attention to right now, it’s the one between NeNe Leakes and Cynthia Bailey on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
If you’ve been keeping up with RHOA this season, then you know they’re not in a good place on the show. How will this affect their friendship going forward and what does NeNe think about Cynthia’s wedding?
NeNe’s issue with Cynthia stems from someone else
In season 11 of RHOA, NeNe’s frustrations with Cynthia grew because of Kenya Moore. NeNe and Kenya don’t get along, and the friendship between Cynthia and Kenya is one that’s caused her to raise an eyebrow. During last season’s finale, Kenya made an appearance at Cynthia’s event and NeNe was angry that she wasn’t given a heads up. The tension between NeNe and Cynthia escalated during the reunion and on social media.
BravoTV points out NeNe’s appearance on After Party where she talked about Cynthia and Kenya’s relationship:
“I am the kind of friend that when you call me, I make the time to talk to you. Kenya is the kind of friend that when she has time, she will call you, and there’s a f–king difference. Kenya is not around for her to talk to and yet, she acts as if she and Kenya are friends. That’s the problem that bothers me.”
She added that had she known Kenya was extended an invitation and attending the event, she wouldn’t have gone, and felt that Cynthia made excuses for not telling her. Cynthia maintains she didn’t know Kenya was coming and she didn’t realize NeNe would be so upset about an invite. But NeNe said it broke her.
What NeNe says about attending Cynthia’s wedding
Now that it’s a sure thing Cynthia and Mike Hill are getting married, what does that mean for Cynthia’s RHOA circle of friends and/or frenemies? NeNe talked to Hollywood Life and when asked if she would show up at the wedding if she’s extended an invitation, she said yes.
When news broke over the summer that the couple had gotten engaged, NeNe shared that sent Cynthia a congratulations card and gift, and Cynthia graciously accepted. The nuptials will take place in October 2020, so there is still time for these former friends to work things out.
Could NeNe and Cynthia be mending their relationship?
Fans don’t really get why NeNe is so bothered by Kenya and Cynthia’s friendship, but there’s a chance these ladies are working things out off-screen. It’s true NeNe and Cynthia have been throwing jabs at each other in real life for the past few months, with Cynthia even calling their friendship “toxic,” but she also admitted that she has a “never say never” mindset when it comes to forgiving NeNe and reconciling.
As for NeNe, she recently said there’s no beef about the wedding right now, but stated the audience will have to keep watching the show to see where these two ladies will land by the end of the season.
