‘RHOA’: Porsha Williams Gets Real About Wedding Postponement After Dennis McKinley Cheating Rumors
Porsha Williams is returning to television with season 12 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The reality show star is coming back to the series completely different: with a baby and preparing her wedding with her fiancé Dennis McKinley. Although their relationship seemed to be going smooth, the couple has now postponed their nuptials following cheating rumors.
Porsha Williams gets real
Williams and her fiancé were set to wed on New Year’s Eve but after it was reported that he had cheated on her, those plans are on hold.
“We’ve moved the wedding date back but we haven’t announced it yet,” the Bravo star told Essence. “We needed more time. Dennis and I had a true bump in the road and we’re trying to make sure our foundation is strong. We both want to be married forever, so we’re doing the work.”
During the trailer of the new season of RHOA, the couple is seen going to couple’s therapy to work their problems out.
“Therapy is important to me because you need to speak to someone in a safe space,” Williams explained. “I have a support system in my mom who’s at the house, but you don’t want to lay everything on her. I use therapy as a place to release and work through things I’m dealing with in my head. It’s also a safe space for my relationship; for us to say things to each other, whereas we might jump to a conclusion if they’re said at home and end up in an argument. At therapy, we’ve learned to communicate a lot better and come to an understanding.”
Since the filming of the reality series, Williams and McKinley have reconciled and got “re-engaged.”
“It’s been a long road, one we’re still on. We’re going day by day rebuilding our relationship and making sure our foundation is where we want it to be to have a strong family,” Williams told Us Weekly.
Who is the reported mistress?
The new season of RHOA will deal with the woman McKinley was allegedly having an affair with. Sincerely Ward, who people might recognize from WAGS Atlanta, makes an appearance with Eva Marcille, Cynthia Bailey, and Kandi Burruss.
Although Williams’ fiancé always denied that he had an affair with her, Ward says viewers will know the truth when they watch RHOA.
“People who know me really know the truth,” Ward told Entertainment Tonight. “Once you see the episode on Sunday, I really feel like, everybody will see the truth of what’s really real. So, that’s really all I have to say about it. After that, I’m not going to respond to it or talk about it anymore.”
She also added: “At the same time, people can think whatever, say whatever. When you see the episode, everything will make sense, and I feel really confident about that. I’m really focused on my career and my family…That’s what consumes me, not the foolishness.”
As The Real Housewives of Atlanta returns to Bravo, the drama is already broiling and fans are in for a rollercoaster of a ride. RHOA airs every Sunday at 8 p.m. ET.
