‘RHOBH’: Denise Richards Sends Rare Clapback Over Lisa Vanderpump
In case you haven’t heard, Lisa Vanderpump is mourning the loss of her mother.
We’re sure no words could possibly comfort her in this time, but her peers are certainly trying. Several people have publicly reached out to the reality to share warm words and condolences. However, her fellow Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-star Denise Richards hasn’t.
For reasons beyond us, some fans took to social media to call out Richards for her apparent silence on the matter — and things quickly went downhill, as the reality star hastily clapped back.
What did Denise Richards say to the fan?
After the fan accused Richards of staying silent on the loss, the television personality suggested that she had already offered her condolences behind closed doors, writing, “I personally like to send condolences privately when it is someone I know.”
Fellow housewife Dorit Kemsley, who also hasn’t publicly shared her condolences, retweeted the message, along with a thumbs-up emoji.
But it didn’t stop there. The fan went on to say that while they “agree not everything has to be public, it would’ve been nice to see (but not necessary).”
What happened to Lisa Vanderpump’s mother?
The reality star’s mother, Jean Vanderpump, recently passed away at 84. An insider told Page Six in June 2019 that Jean’s autopsy showed “there was some embolism that went to her brain.”
“She collapsed and that’s what happened,” the source continued.
The Bravo star is devastated by the loss, especially because “her grandmother lived to 100 [and] she was expecting the same for her mother — a really long and healthy life.”
As a result, she’s decided to step away from television.
That’s not the only tragedy Lisa Vanderpump has experienced
In April 2018, Vanderpump’s brother, Mark, died of a suspected drug overdose. It was later determined that he committed suicide. Vanderpump said the loss hit her hard because her brother was her “partner in crime.”
“It’s still so fresh,” Vanderpump said in an episode of RHOBH that aired in early 2019. “My brother was kind of my partner in crime growing up, but we did use to torture each other all the time. Whatever happened, it was just the two of us.”
“I’m a strong woman. I can cope. But I was never prepared for this. And it’s been very difficult. Very difficult,” she continued.
Will Lisa Vanderpump return to television?
It seems like she will. A source told People that while she’s taking a break from RHOBH spinoff Vanderpump Rules, production continues.
“I made the decision to leave. It was a very difficult year for me, personally and professionally. I had wonderful things happen this year, opening up and TomTom and the cocktail garden in Vegas. The Housewives, it’s just, it’s emotionally too difficult to deal with,” she told the outlet.
If she does come back, some of the ‘RHOBH’ staff members will be waiting with open arms.
