‘RHOBH’: Dorit Kemsley’s Bank Account Frozen. The Story Behind Her and PK’s Money Troubles.
Are Dorit and PK Kemsley’s money troubles getting worse? The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills couple have had their bank account frozen in the midst of an ongoing legal battle over a $1.2 million loan.
The financial blow comes shortly after Camille Grammer alleged during the June 25 episode of RHOBH that the pair owed “a lot of money” to someone she knew. But in her confessional, Kemsley said Grammer didn’t know what she was talking about. “PK doesn’t own any of your friends money, sweetheart,” she declared.
The Kemsley’s various legal battles
The Kemsleys have been involved a few different legal battles over the years, including an ongoing lawsuit with Dorit’s former Beverly Beach partner Ryan Horne, who has sued the couple, saying he’s owed $205,000, and a dispute with a sports betting company to which PK allegedly owed a gambling debt. The first case has been ordered to mediation by a judge, and the second was dismissed.
But the frozen bank account relates to a third case, this one involving a loan PK took out from a man named Nico Kirzis. Kirzis alleges that he loaned PK $1.2 million eight years ago, but that the music manager has only paid back $250,000. Kirzis has sued PK for the balance, which now totals more than $1.23 million with interest.
Why was the Kemsley’s bank account frozen?
Kirzis sued the Kemsleys over the unpaid debt back in 2016, according to OK! magazine. At the time, Kemsley agreed to make payments, but has allegedly failed to keep up with them. Kirzis is now moving to collect what he is owed.
In May, a judge in the case ordered PK to hand over bank statements and other financial information. Now, that judge has ordered the Kemsley’s accounts frozen until a court hearing in September.
According to The Blast, Dorit is arguing that the $29,634.10 in the City National Bank Account she shares with her husband is actually her money, and that PK did not contribute to it. A decision on whether Dorit will get to keep the money will happen at the September hearing.
The Kemsley’s house is still on the market
Adding to the Kemsley’s financial woes is their still-unsold Beverly Hills house, which has been languishing on the market since July 2017. Initially, the Kemsleys were asking $12.75 million for their 6-bedroom, 7-bath hillside home, but no one bit.
The couple then called in James Harris and David Parnes from Million Dollar Listing: LA for help unloading the property. Harris and Parnes declared that the house was way overpriced. PK agreed to a price of $8.5 million, but was unwilling to go lower and rejected an offer of $7.45 million.
Now, he may be wishing he accepted that buyer’s offer. The home is still listed for sale, but the Kemsleys have cut the price again, to $7.49 million.
