‘RHOBH’: Is Season 10 Destined to Flop? Fans Think So
But since Vanderpump has decided to move on to greener pastures, the show is reportedly missing any tension or real intrigue.
Why did Lisa Vanderpump leave the show?
After a dog that Dorit Kemsley adopted from Vanderpump Dogs ended up in a shelter, the rest of the RHOBH women turned on Vanderpump. Not wanting to deal with all of the drama, Vanderpump refused to film with the rest of the housewives for the remainder of the season. As a result of this, several of her scenes got cut.
“Lisa is extremely hurt that several scenes that she filmed for RHOBH have been cut because it’s all about her philanthropy work which she loves to proudly show off,” a source close to the show told HollywoodLife at the time. “She feels that since there’s no drama, they got cut, but she wants to show off that side of her life and is really disappointed that those scenes got cut because that’s a big part of her life as a real housewife.”
Ultimately, Vanderpump left the show because she was dealing with a lot in her personal life.
“I made the decision to leave,” she told Us Weekly. “It was a very difficult year for me, personally and professionally. I had wonderful things happen this year, opening up and TomTom and the cocktail garden in Vegas. The Housewives, it’s just, it’s emotionally too difficult to deal with.”
Season 10 of ‘RHOBH’
Since filming for season 10 began, not much has happened.
“This season is light on drama so far,” a source close to production told HollywoodLife. “There have been zero fights so far.” Which is insane as the women are two months into filming.
There has “been essentially no drama at all with Lisa Vanderpump’s departure,” the source continued. “The ladies are all truly friends and [are] getting along, seemingly.”
Fan reactions to a boring season 10
People getting along is a great thing in the real world, but it’s horrible for reality television.
And even though the season hasn’t premiered, fans are already annoyed.
“So Denise isn’t showing up to filming, Kyle’s filming for Halloween most of the time, Garcelle’s bringing nothing, Teddi & Erika are still there,” one fan tweeted. “Rinna & Dorit are good with everyone. What the f–k is there to film? No wonder the Bravo execs are reportedly ‘unhappy.'”
Some people are even debating skipping the season altogether.
And others called for other Real Housewives cities to be moved up in the Bravo lineup.
Hopefully, the producers of RHOBH can pull something out of their sleeves to save this season or the ratings might leave a tad to be desired.
