Dunham appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. She was asked to play a game where she had to explain why certain Real Housewives were not crazy. Dunham breezed through a few cast members but then took a hard turn with a true story when it came to Richards.

The story involved a chance meeting between the two before Dunham became a well-known actress. Dunham noted that she met Richards randomly on the street, which made her refer to Richards as being “sweet as sugar.”

Just ‘some random child’ on the street

Dunham joked about how she was “just some random child” trying on shoes and Richards came to her rescue.

“I know why Kyle Richards isn’t crazy. It’s because she is sweet as sugar,” she shared. “When I came out to LA for the first time when I was 17, and I was sitting in Neiman Marcus trying to find a pair of shoes that were appropriate for a little party I was invited to, she talked to me for 45 minutes and then said, ‘This might not be the store for you. I’m going to text my niece, Paris, and recommend another place.’”

As Dunham tells the story, host Andy Cohen’s jaw drops. “That is good!” he exclaimed after hearing her story.

But Richards has a spicy side too

Richards appeared on WWHL on another occasion where she let it rip on one cast member. She said season 4 which included Carlton Gebbia was not her favorite. In fact, she wished it never occurred.

“That would be season 4… umm… Carlton [Gebbia],” Richards said in response to a fan question. “That’s the season I like to pretend never happened. That was just weird. Everything she did was just so friggin freaky. I’m still convinced that she put a spell on me because bees always torture me and come in the most random places.” Gebbia revealed on the show that she was a Wiccan.

Richards also didn’t take Dorit Kemsley’s criticism lightly of her fashion line. Kemsley basically eye-rolled Richards’ fashion line in a confessional and Richards responded on Twitter. “I knew nothing about doing a fashion show. A clothing line yes,” she shared. “I had a clothing line on HSN & stores for years. I appreciated Dorit’s help w/ ideas for styling the models for the fashion show but with all due respect she did NOT save my fashion show. We’d hired a production team.”

She also wasn’t happy when Denise Richards decided to simply stop filming. “I feel like when it got hot in the kitchen, she left,” Richards shared with Entertainment Tonight. “Her kind of walking off and not wanting to participate didn’t really sit well with the rest of us who show up every day.”

“I get frustrated when people don’t show up, because that’s what we signed up for,” Richards continued. “There were so many times where I would have loved to not show up, and so many people I would have loved to not be around at the time, but I never once have done that in 10 years. It was a little frustrating to me.”
