‘RHOBH’: Why Lisa Vanderpump Might Not Appear on the Reunion

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump is pretty much over this season. So much so, that she might not even appear in the reunion.

Sources close to the star have told Entertainment Tonight that Vanderpump “hasn’t made a decision on if she’ll show up for the RHOBH reunion or not.”

And she probably won’t decide until the last minute.

“Lisa filming the reunion will be a game time decision,” the source continued.

But Vanderpump is not totally to blame if she doesn’t show up to the reunion. She didn’t even want to be on this season at all after the death of her brother in April of 2018. After his death, she asked Andy Cohen for a year off of the show.

“[Andy] said, ‘You know, I think we should’ve given you a year off when you asked for it,'” she recently told ET. “He said, ‘I don’t think you were in a mental state where you were really prepared to deal with it,’ it was very emotional … ‘With hindsight, we probably should’ve given you the year off.'”

As a result of all that was going on, Vanderpump wasn’t in the headspace to deal with the drama on RHOBH.

“I wasn’t as prepared for combat as I should’ve been,” she continued.
“It hasn’t been a good situation. I think this year, with where my mental state was — and I’ve been very honest about that, I struggled a lot, you know, after my brother’s suicide. The first few months it was really difficult, and I was kind of searching for happiness, so, I think you know … when something really significant happens in your life, maybe it does change you, you know?”

And it wasn’t exactly the easiest year for Vanderpump on the show, either. She lost a few friendships and argued with several women throughout the season.

“It was a tough year, personally,” she told the outlet. “I don’t know. I have no control over what they show, what’s being filmed and what’s being said. I know for me, we’ve talked about before, I just tell my truth and keep going.”

Luckily, her true fans have remained supportive and that support has helped Vanderpump get through times when her “friends” have left her.

Reunion aside, Vanderpump has a lot of other things to focus on right now. Vanderpump Rules, the show that she executive produces, will be filming its reunion soon, she has a Facebook Watch series called The World’s Most Amazing Dog, and she’s opening a new bar in Las Vegas.

Have other housewives missed reunions?

If Vanderpump decided not to go to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion, it would be a first for Vanderpump but not for the franchise. In 2018, Luann de Lesseps missed The Real Housewives of New York City reunion in order to check herself into rehab.

Though Cohen won’t be able to cover the drama on the show that involved the SUR owner if she doesn’t come to the reunion, the show must go on and there will be plenty of dramatic situations to talk about without Vanderpump.
