‘RHOC’: Alexis Bellino Stockpiles Massive Supplies at Costco

Alexis Bellino from The Real Housewives of Orange County said she wanted to be safe than sorry in light of the coronavirus. She headed to her local Costco to grab as many supplies as she could and was met with a bevy of others who were doing the same thing.

Residents worldwide are stocking up on supplies, hitting grocery chains to stockpile water, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, and nonperishable food. Many people have remarked on social media that some retailers have depleted supplies and could not find items like hand sanitizer and toilet paper.

Bellino seemed worried after listening to President Donald Trump’s remarks when he addressed the country from the Oval Office on Wednesday night. So she headed to the store and shared video of the massive number of people who were stocking up.

‘Pandemonia is happening’

Bellino posted a comment along with her video. “Pandamonia is happening here @costco this morning! Definitely more than 250 people here….second trip in a week, we are stocked!”

Although a number of people were doing the same thing, some people commented on her post that she shouldn’t be hoarding supplies. “And you are the problem why it’s nothing left in the selves for people,” one person observed. Another added, “Agreed… ‘sharing is caring’!! At some point – the stores will have to set limits so that hoarding supplies will be discouraged.”

Some people also thought perhaps Bellino and others were going overboard with stockpiling supplies. “It’s crazy I would be more worried about an earthquake and stockpiling for that. People are going abit overboard. Should normally have a stock pile anyways who knows what disaster could happen,” a person remarked on the post.

She showed her overflowing cart in the video. Bellino said she was stocking up “just in case.” She also showed the line which appeared to extend around the store. In another video, a man is heard saying how he just wanted paper towels but they were sold out. She adds that she’s never seen anything like it before.

Meanwhile, in Charleston …

While Orange County residents were whipped into a frenzy, some folks in the Lowcountry were taking the pandemic with a grain of salt. Patricia Altschul from Southern Charm also headed to her local Costco last week. She shared a photo of her cart in preparation for the coronavirus, which looked distinctly different from Bellino’s.

The always calm and cool socialite stocked up, but on Veuve Clicquot champagne and toilet paper. “Getting prepared in case the coronavirus hits @costco,” she wrote. Reza Farahan from Shahs of Sunset also noticed Altschul brought the right bag along for the shopping trip too. “Birkin at Costco! Love you @pataltschul 🙏🏼❤️,” he responded to her post. Also, Courtney Skippon from Below Deck added, “This is how I provision as well.”

Altschul is no stranger to preparing for an emergency. She also approached preparation for a monster hurricane this fall in a similar manner.  “Stocking up on hurricane supplies at  @costco #champagne  #batteries  #pet #toys,” she shared on Instagram along with a photo of her cart.
