‘RHOC’: Emily Simpson Reveals Which Cast Members She Doesn’t Trust
Simpson first appeared on the flagship Real Housewives show last year as the grounded attorney who never seemed to find that groove with the other cast members. The drama started when Kelly Dodd and Simpson’s husband Shane got into a dramatic smackdown at Tamra Judge’s party. Simpson found herself playing defense for most of the season and continued to be an odd cast member out on several occasions.
While she seemed to reconcile with Dodd, Simpson, along with new cast member Gina Kirschenheiter, were never really welcomed into the RHOC circle of trust. What will fans learn about where she is today with the ladies? She revealed what she discovered about the cast, especially some of the women she was at odds with on The Domenick Nati Show on iHeart Radio.
Is she still at odds with Kelly Dodd?
Even after Simpson and Dodd seemed to kiss and makeup, they never really found that friendship groove last season. Perhaps after Dodd called Simpson’s husband a “little b*tch” prompting Simpson to threaten to kill Dodd, it was hard to just move on and get over it.
Not so, Simpson said during her discussion with Domenick Nati. She joked about her response of wanting to “kill Dodd” too. “Sometimes it’s hard to come back from that,” she admitted.
“But I’ll be honest,” she continued. “Viewers this season are going to be totally surprised because Kelly and I have no issues. I consider Kelly one of my closest friends. So it’s definitely done a 360. I’m not the kind of girl who holds grudges. I mean I threaten to kill people and then I move on pretty easily.”
How much will Vicki Gunvalson be on the show?
Simpson addresses OG Vicki Gunvalson’s new role as “friend” on the show. The announcement that Gunvalson was demoted to more of a supporting role shocked fans and some even said they won’t watch if Gunvalson isn’t on. Even though Simpson hadn’t talked directly to Gunvalson about the new role, she knows Gunvalson has to be feeling pretty dejected.
She too was surprised when producers changed her designation on the show. But assures fans that Gunvalson gets plenty of air time. “Vicki is on the show,” she said. “She’s on a lot. I filmed with her a ton.”
“So it’s not like she’s making a little cameo here and there and just guest appearances,” she continued. “She’s very much a part of the show and the cast. I don’t think it was anything hurtful. I mean obviously, Vicki Gunvalson is great TV. She’s amazing on TV. But I think it was just a business decision where they just need to rotate out and rotate in.”
But she doesn’t trust these cast members
Although she’s in a good place with Dodd, she doesn’t really trust some of the other ladies. The “Tres Amigas” made up of Judge, Gunvalson and Shannon Beador are not exactly Simpson’s besties. She says Beador especially is extremely different on and off camera.
“I just know some of the other women have made comments that Shannon Beador is very different when she’s not filming,” Simpson reveals. “But I don’t know because I don’t know her very well at all.”
While she may not know Beador very well, she still doesn’t trust her or any of the “Tres Amigas.” She says, “The ‘Tres Amigas’ I think those three are just out for themselves. I don’t trust them as a group. They stick together very tightly and don’t like to go outside their group. I would be leary of trying to infiltrate that group.”
Simpson adds that fans will see more ups and downs in her marriage this season too. The Real Housewives of Orange County season 14 premieres on August 6 at 9/8c.
