This ‘RHOC’ Housewife Got Major Backlash After Shading Vicki Gunvalson
Vicki Gunvalson from The Real Housewives of Orange County is ending season 14 with a lot of controversies. The OG of the OC caused major drama with production during the reunion show. Gunvalson believed she was going to be featured throughout the show but since she was not a full-time housewife, the rules are different. One of Gunvalson’s co-stars called her out and received major backlash from fans.
Braunwyn Windham-Burke and Gunvalson did not hit it off from the start of the season. Their relationship did not blossom as they never found anything in common. During the reunion show, Gunvalson told Andy Cohen to get Windham-Burke off her show. That’s when the latter took to Twitter to further the drama.
“Vicki, if it’s your show, [why] aren’t you holding an orange?” Windham-Burke tweeted.
Fans react to tweet
Viewers of RHOC that follow all the ladies from the show on Twitter, noticed the message from Windham-Burke and reacted. Although there were many against Gunvalson, the backlash Windham-Burke received was overwhelming.
“It certainly isn’t yours and never will be,” a fan replied to Windham-Burke. “She’s a pure original from the original show. There were no Real Housewives before her cast. You joined in its 14th season and have no place to make that comment. It’s laughable.”
“Well… she doesn’t have an orange but did she miss any episode? And she’s sitting next to Andy… so…,” a viewer added.
“This makes you look nasty. I liked you too,” another fan commented.
“Sorry lady, you should just be quiet,” another viewer replied. “Vicki is a lot of things but she is an OG. Maybe worry about how you present yourself instead. Tacky and boring get old real fast.”
“Vicki is the reason for most watching the show,” a loyal fan said. “She is her authentic self. She has shared her life and made everyone feel part of her family. It’s a disgrace for Bravo not to have her full-time. Braunwyn is really trying too hard and it shows.”
Is Vicki Gunvalson quitting?
After reports surged around Gunvalson’s meltdown at the reunion, the insurance maven did not deny the drama.
“I was very, very sad, very emotional and very sad,” Gunvalson told OK! Magazine. “I was told I was going to stay the whole reunion and you’ll see what happens. It was not good.”
As an original castmember of RHOC, she felt her legacy was disrespected.
“I felt very disrespected and I don’t deserve that,” she added. “I give Bravo my life, all of my life, and I don’t fake my reality. My reality is crazy. On other casts, women have created storylines. I don’t create that. My life is my life, either you want it or you don’t.”
There were also reports that she got into it deep with Cohen, who moderates the reunion specials and is also a producer of the show.
“I did not get into it with Andy… told him what I felt, as well as I told everyone involved what I felt,” she explained. “I thought that I should have been notified ahead of time. They lied to me, basically. They lied to me.”
The Real Housewives of Orange County reunion will air its second part on Monday, December 23 on Bravo.
