‘RHOC’: How Vicki Gunvalson Is Reacting to the Announcement of Her No Longer Being a Full-Time Star
The Real Housewives of Orange Country (RHOC) is getting a huge change this season with Vicki Gunvalson no longer being a full-time cast member. Braunwyn Windham-Burke is the new member that will be shaking things up.
How is “The O.G.” reacting to the announcement of her demotion? Here is what she had to say and more.
Vicki Gunvalson was demoted to friend reportedly because she didn’t have a storyline
The reality star has managed to stay on the show as a full-time star all these years. That run has officially ended with her getting demoted to a “friend.”
Radar Online reported that Gunvalson was “absolutely crushed” by this decision. “Word started spreading around that she was getting the axe a couple of weeks ago, but no one really believed it until they started filming without her,” said an unnamed source.
This happened due to her reportedly not having a storyline. “When you added that on top of the cocaine drama with Kelly [Dodd], it was just her time to go,” said a source.
Gunvalson previously accused Dodd of doing cocaine during the Season 13 reunion. This feud and accusation do come up in Season 14.
Gunvalson is seen multiple times throughout the Season 14 trailer
The casting change was basically announced through Gunvalson not being in the Season 14 cast photo. However, she is seen multiple times in the season’s trailer.
There is a scene of her at a dinner table saying, “I have not revealed all that I know.” She is later confronting Dodd, who calls her a con woman. Gunvalson yells back “You are a bully!” Later she is seen saying, “She called me fat.”
The original star will also be part of the parties. There is one costume party where she is introduced as Queen Victoria. Many fans are shocked by the news, but how is she reacting? She made a statement on Instagram.
She writes that she’s back this season in the middle of the action
Gunvalson posted her solo picture for the upcoming season. She wrote in the caption her reaction to her demotion.
“For the past 14 years I’ve opened up my life, my loves, my ups and downs on The Real Housewives of Orange County and I am proud to be the ‘OG of the OC’. I am back again this season right in the middle of the action in a different role. I hope you have as much fun watching the show as I did living it in front of the cameras. Stay tuned to Bravo August 6th for more of the Tres Amigas,” she wrote.
Page Six reports that a source has opened up about the huge casting change. “Bravo always shakes up the cast from season to season,” said an insider. “Vicki’s very much a part of the drama and a part of this group.”
The returning cast members are Tamra Judge, Kelly Dodd, Gina Kirschenheiter, Emily Simpson and Shannon Beador. Season 14 of The Real Housewives of Orange County premieres on Bravo Tuesday, August 6, at 9 p.m. ET.
