‘RHOC’: Kelly Dodd Slams Braunwyn Windham-Burke for Traveling Without Her Kids
Kelly Dodd of The Real Housewives of Orange County is fired up and Braunwyn Windham-Burke is her target. The Bravo stars are in a feud and going at each other setting off fireworks. Dodd recently called out her co-star for traveling and leaving her children behind. She also hinted she has more to say at the reunion.
What did Kelly Dodd say?
Dodd has been involved in multiple controversies throughout the year having to do with the coronavirus pandemic and Black Lives Matter. The Positive Beverage promoter had been criticized for traveling in the middle of a pandemic without taking the proper precautions. Dodd is now clapping back at Windham-Burke for doing the same.
“This is so wrong… hypocrisy at its highest level,” Dodd reportedly wrote on Instagram. “I never abandoned my daughter during COVID. She was with her grandmother and father when I was stuck in NYC. Braunwyn on the other hand, traveled to Puerto Rico, Aspen, Salt Lake City, and elsewhere without her kids who spent and continue to spend considerable time with nannies, not their mom.”
The RHOC star is calling out Windham-Burke for her recent tour where she met up with different Housewives from other franchises. Windham-Burke was popular with fans of the show up until that moment as she was seen not social distancing in different cities.
“I have one child (teenager),” Dodd continued. “She has 7, including 4 aged 2-6. There’s so much more I can’t wait to say at the reunion so stay tuned. Poor Braunwyn will be eaten alive.”
Braunwyn Windham-Burke criticized Kelly Dodd’s BLM joke
At Dodd’s bridal shower, the RHOC star was given a hat that said “Drunk Wives Matter.” It was a play on words on Black Lives Matter and fans didn’t take it well. Many believed she was poking fun at the movement and a backlashed ensued. Dodd was forced to apologize for the incident days later.
“Over the weekend at my bridal shower, I got lots of gifts and briefly displayed them,” Dodd later apologized on Instagram. “One was a hat with a play on words since I’m about to be a wife, I’m on a Housewives TV show and might be drunk once in a while.”
Windham-Burke has been a massive supporter of BLM and even gone on protests in support of the cause. During an interview, she threw shade at Dodd for the scandal.
“We are diametrically opposed in our ideology right now,” Windham-Burke said in the Getting Real with the Real Housewives podcast, according to Reality Blurb. “I believe Black Lives Matter, and she believes Drunk Wives Matter. And that’s something that I don’t funny. I’ve forgiven her a lot for her big mouth over the years. But now we’re at the point where she is attacking people, and it’s more than I can be around.”
Dodd has been absent from the media circuit and has not promoted the new season of the show like the rest of her co-stars. This might be a strategy to keep Dodd from putting her foot in her mouth again.
The Real Housewives of Orange County airs Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
