‘RHOC’ Star Braunwyn Windham-Burke Says She ‘Can’t Always Rely’ On Her Husband
Season 14 of The Real Housewives of Orange County has major cast changes with “The OG of The OC,” Vicki Gunvalson, being demoted to a “friend” role. Ahead of its season premiere on Bravo, new housewife Braunwyn Windham-Burke is dishing on what she learned from being on the iconic reality show as well as who she has the most friction with.
Who is Braunwin Windham-Burke?
With Vicki being demoted, Braunwyn Windham-Burke was tapped to join Season 14 of the Housewives franchise. She comes in as a friend of Kelly Dodd from the Balboa Bay Club.
Windham-Burke is a wife and a mother of seven children – baby Hazel, toddler Koa, twins Caden and Curran and teenagers Jacob, Rowan and Bella. She is a full-time mother and pursuing a book deal based on her motherhood blog.
Is the new housewife fitting in with the cast?
Whenever a new housewife enters an established group that has had drama for various seasons, the dynamics are undoubtedly going to shift and Windham-Burke knows that clearly.
“The dynamics in the show shift a lot,” she told People in a recent interview. “I think friendships on this season are tried and tested and a lot of old issues come up that need to be worked through.”
The freshman housewife confessed that she suffered friction with RHOC veteran Tamra Judge, but it was all for the best.
“If I had to pick a person that I had the most friction with, it was probably Tamra [Judge], but it’s also the person that made me face issues and brought the best out of me,” she added. “A lot of it had to do with me opening up and being honest and letting everyone know who I was.”
Windham-Burke also says that it was Judge and Shannon Beador the two housewives that made her “confront a couple of truths” about herself.
“I avoid conflict, which sounds hilarious going on to a show that’s known for conflict. I am a people pleaser and I hate conflict and I learned that I run from it, literally and figuratively, as you can see as the season progresses,” she said.
Why can’t Windham-Burke ‘rely’ on her husband?
In the same interview, Braunwyn Windham-Burke revealed that she can’t rely on her husband, but it’s not what you think. She explained that in the process of “staying in the uncomfortableness” of confronting a situation, one has to be able to face a dilemma to show your strength.
“I learned also that I can’t always rely on my husband,” she also told People. “I’ve been with my husband since I was 18 and I had to stand on my own two feet for the first time in my entire adult life. That was not always easy but definitely time.”
