‘RHOC’: Tamra Judge Now Claims Her Exit Was a ‘Mutual Decision’ and Hints That She Is Already Planning Her Return to TV

Former Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Judge is opening up about her exit from Bravo’s hit reality show. Judge announced her shocking departure in an interview a few weeks ago, hinting that it was not her decision to leave. Turns out, Judge now claims that her exit was mutual and she might even be returning to TV a lot sooner than expected.

Tamra Judge announces her exit from ‘RHOC’

Judge first appeared on RHOC way back in season 3. But following 12 seasons of drama, she decided to leave the series ahead of season 15.

In a recent interview, Judge revealed that producers wanted to bring her back for another season but only as a part-time cast member. This is similar to what happened to Vicki Gunvalson last season.

Unlike Gunvalson, Tamra Judge refused to return unless she was on the show full-time. Producers apparently wanted to bring Judge back for a short cameo so that they could wrap up her storyline and gives fans closure.

“It’s been a wild ride, and after all these years, I’m looking forward to life away from the cameras,” Judge shared. “I was offered a chance to come back to the show in a limited role, but would prefer to walk away on my own terms.”

Apart from starring on RHOC, Judge has had experience in the realm of spin-offs. Back in 2013, she appeared in a RHOC special called Tamra’s OC Wedding. The spin-off covered Judge’s wedding to Eddie Judge at a resort in California.

Judge claims her exit a mutual decision

Although Judge initially made it sound like it was not completely her decision to walk away from RHOC, she recently told fans on social media that her exit was mutual.

According to All About The Tea, Judge stated that she left the series so that she could deal with some “personal matters” not related to the show. She did not originally go into any specifics about what is happening, but it sounds like she wasn’t available to film. On February 18, her ex-husband Simon Barney announced that he had been diagnosed with stage 3 cancer, leading many to believe that was one of the reasons behind her departure.

Judge also admitted that she will not miss the “negative energy” from some of her co-stars, which was likely a reference to Kelly Dodd.

While it sounds like Tamra Judge’s personal issues are the reason she isn’t coming back, she did say that she wasn’t happy with the editing in season 14. In fact, Judge revealed that some of the way scenes were edited made her “look bad.”

“I had some shady editing last year that not only made me look bad but was totally made up #SUVrideNeverhappened,” Tamra revealed. “I rarely complain about edits. I know what I signed up for. I can make myself look like an asshole all by myself. However, using subtitles and piecing together interview questions as an empty SUV drives away to make me look bad is NOT cool and NOT reality and I didn’t sign up for that.”

Tamra Judge teases return to TV

Apart from talking about leaving the show, Judge also teased that she might be returning to reality television in the near future.

Not only did she tell fans to “stay tuned” about a potential spin-off, but Judge also stated that viewers might see her appear in season 16. If that happens, then she might return to television as early as 2021.

Fans, of course, also asked Tamra Judge if she was going to team up with Gunvalson for a spin-off. Judge did not confirm the rumors, but she did say that she is working on a few projects and that she’ll make an announcement when the time is right.

When it comes to Judge’s former co-stars, she still is on good terms with Shannon Beador, Gina Kirschenheiter, Meghan King Edmonds, Heather Dubrow, and Braunwyn Windham-Burke.

How does Kelly Dodd feel about the cast shake-up?

The only person Tamra Judge didn’t mention is Kelly Dodd. Judge and Dodd did not get along last season, so it doesn’t come as a huge surprise that they don’t talk outside of the show.

An inside source says that Dodd is totally okay with the recent casting changes in RHOC. The reality star feels like having Gunvalson and Judge off the show will make things more interesting.

“Kelly Dodd is fine with Tamra and Vicki being gone from the show,” the insider dished. “She feels like it’s going to make it more exciting and a little less stressful. She felt they attacked her all season and it backfired on them.”

When she first appeared on RHOC a few years ago, Dodd and Gunvalson were actually good friends. But over the past few seasons they have experienced a major falling out. At the end of season 13, for instance, Gunvalson accused Dodd of using cocaine.

Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson have not commented on how Dodd reportedly feels about their exits. Needless to say, there probably isn’t any love lost between them.

Bravo has not announced when the new season of the Real Housewives of Orange County will premiere. The series is expected to return at some point this year, likely in the fall.
