‘RHOC’: Vicki Gunvalson, Kelly Dodd and the Entire Cast Reportedly On the Chopping Block for Season 15
Is Vicki Gunvalson getting the boot from “her show” next season? Bravo might be handing out a whole new set of oranges for the new season of the Real Housewives of Orange County. After a drama-packed year, inside sources claim that producers are seriously considering firing the entire cast, including Gunvalson and Kelly Dodd, who were at each other’s throats all season long. Here’s a look at why RHOC producers might be shaking things up in a big way next year.
‘RHOC’ cast on the chopping block
Bravo producers are reportedly worried that fans are tired of the same old drama and believe some fresh faces might boost ratings.
According to Radar Online, an inside source claims that everyone is on the chopping block for next season. The source noted that they are still thinking about inviting Vicki Gunvalson, Tamra Judge, and Shannon Beador back, but they are not sold on the idea just yet.
“The drama was good with Tamra, Shannon, Vicki, and Kelly,” the insider shared. “But do viewers want to keep seeing the same thing over and over?”
The source added that Gina Kirschenheiter, Brauwyn Windham-Burke, and Emily Simpson might not be coming back either. For producers, they do not feel as though viewers connect with the three newcomers, which does not bode well for them.
The casting news comes on the heels of Andy Cohen’s comments about there being a slew of “good” prospects for the show.
Vicki Gunvalson makes waves at the reunion
One of the problems with the newer ladies is that they have not established a loyal fan base. During the latest reunion, for example, Gunvalson blasted Windham-Burke for trying to ruin everything she has done over the years.
The insider noted that many viewers watched the reunion just to see what would happen with Gunvalson. But to be fair, people also tuned in when the OG of the OC was not on the air. This suggests that fans like the drama, but they might be ready for something new.
Bravo, of course, has not said anything about casting decisions for next season. The reunion for season 14 just wrapped up, so it will probably be a long time before we hear anything official.
If producers decided against bringing Vicki Gunvalson back, there is a chance that Judge and Beador will be on the outs as well. The trio has become strong friends over the years and has been dubbed the “Tres Amigas.”
Windham-Burke teases Vicki Gunvalson’s exit
Season 14 of the RHOC was the first time Gunvalson has been demoted since the series started. Gunvalson has already admitted that she was surprised when producers told her about the demotion, and she has since vowed to never come back unless she is a full-time cast member.
With that in mind, Windham-Burke recently hinted that producers will not be inviting Vicki Gunvalson back for season 15 of RHOC.
After bashing Gunvalson on social media, a fan claimed that the OG of the OC had already secured a spot on the show next season.
In response, Windham-Burke told the fan that any reports regarding Gunvalson’s future on the series are likely false, implying that perhaps Vicki Gunvalson will not be invited back after all.
“Don’t believe most of what you’re reading right now ;),” she wrote.
Cohen talks about adding new faces to ‘RHOC’
With season 14 of RHOC officially a wrap, Cohen recently talked about the new additions to the series. Overall, the long-time Bravo host was happy with the new faces in season 14, especially Windham-Burke, who has a bunch of things going on in her life.
But he also talked about how there are a lot of women who could potentially star on the series in the near future. With the chances of a major casting change, Cohen revealed that there are plenty of people waiting for the chance to appear on the show and that they might have a “hard call” ahead of them.
“So ultimately, you’re upset that those people are leaving, you might have to make a hard call on Orange County, but there are great people on the show right now and there are great people waiting. You have to figure it out.”
Cohen did not reveal who might be leaving the show for season 15, but if the sources are correct, we might be in for a major overhaul. Considering everything that has unfolded in the past two seasons, some fresh faces might not be a bad idea.
Bravo has not announced when season 15 of the Real Housewives of Orange County will premiere, or if Vicki Gunvalson will be back on “her show.”
