‘RHOC’: Vicki Gunvalson Reveals She Wants Respect After Filming the Reunion Went Sour

Real Housewives of Orange County kicked off the Housewives franchises. The one star that has been there from the very beginning is Vicki Gunvalson.

So it was pretty shocking when it was announced that she wouldn’t be returning as a full-time cast member for season 14. Fans still saw her but this change might have led to more drama.

Things reportedly didn’t go well at the reunion. Find out what she has to say about wanting to be respected and more.

Vicki Gunvalson was demoted on ‘RHOC’

Season 14 of RHOC had a huge shakeup given Gunvalson was demoted from being a full-time cast member. She made a statement about the change on Instagram.

“For the past 14 years I’ve opened up my life, my loves, my ups and downs on The Real Housewives of Orange County and I am proud to be the ‘OG of the OC’. I am back again this season right in the middle of the action in a different role. I hope you have as much fun watching the show as I did living it in front of the cameras. Stay tuned to Bravo August 6th for more of the Tres Amigas,” she wrote in the caption of her photo for the new season.

Gunvalson was still very much in the mix with the cast this season. However, her new position is smaller and would technically be described as a “friend” instead of a “housewife.” This seems to be a problem for the former full-time cast member.

She said she’ll never come back part-time

The reality star has been described as a “friend” given her demotion. She has revealed that she isn’t happy about it.

“First of all, when they told me I was going to have a reduced role, I said, ‘I’m never a Friend. I started this franchise. I’m never going to be a Friend.’ They said, ‘We’ll never use those words.’ And they’ve been using those words,” she told Entertainment Tonight.

She added, “I will never come back part-time. I’m either all in or all out. I’m not a part-time girl.”

Gunvalson went on to talk about other things she has going on this year. “I run a big insurance company and I’m having my best year ever with that. What gives me more peace, you know, I love Bravo and I love my journey here, but they’re not ever going to do this to me again, because I don’t deserve that,” she said.

Not being a full-time cast member seems to be hard on the original cast member. She talked about how she has been treated since the change.

Something happened during the filming of the reunion. “I asked for cameras to go down,” revealed Gunvalson to Us Weekly. “I was very, very sad. Very emotional, very sad. I was told I was gonna stay the whole reunion and you’ll see what happens.”

She then added, “I felt very disrespected and I don’t deserve that.” The reality star said, “I’m a cast member that created this franchise and I need that [to be] respected. If they don’t want me, I’m fine … but don’t disrespect me.”

It sounds like Gunvalson is considering not returning next season. Fans will have to wait and see to find out what happened at this season’s reunion.
