‘RHOC’: Why Didn’t Braunwyn Windham-Burke Think She Would Like Tamra Judge?
Braunwyn Windham-Burke from The Real Housewives of Orange County recently dished about some of the surprises she encountered when she joined the cast.
The new cast member appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and was asked a slew of questions ranging from which cast member is the least wild to who didn’t she think she’d click with on the show. The mother of seven candidly answered callers’ questions, which were mainly asked during the WWHL After Show.
Since joining the cast, Windham-Burke quickly connected with Tamra Judge. The two bonded so tightly they found themselves in a drunken liplock during Shannon Beador’s birthday party. The two kissed, but then laughed hysterically. Although they quickly clicked on the show, Windham-Burke didn’t think that would be the case before she met Judge.
Negative press gave her the wrong impression
Windham-Burke said she didn’t think would get along with Judge due to the number of negative stories written about her. “Honestly Tamra, because the press she gets isn’t always that great,” Windham-Burke remarked. “She’s really the kindest, warmest person that I’ve met. And she really has been a mentor and like a big sister. No matter what she is doing, when I call her, she picks up the phone.”
Judge has similar feelings about Windham-Burke. “Love Braunwyn! She just slid into our group like she had been one of the group for years,” she told Bravo’s The Daily Dish. “Super nice, down-to-Earth, very open, cute as can be, has a great husband, seven children, a mother that has rainbow dreadlocks … I mean, what can you ask for?”
About that kiss? “We had a good vibe. Would you rather have kissing or fighting? Just trying to make everybody happy,” Judge joked. “I don’t remember [if she’s a good kisser]. But she said I was a good kisser, that’s all I care about.”
She doesn’t seem as connected to this cast member
While she gushed about her friendship with Judge, she said Emily Simpson tends to be more lowkey with the group. A caller asked which cast member was “the biggest prude” and while Windham-Burke named Simpson, she also appeared to shade Simpson a bit too.
“I mean Emily is, come one,” she replied shaking her head and rolling her eyes. But when host Andy Cohen asked about the sexy dance Simpson did in Vegas, Windham-Burke threw this shade. “Ok … well, that was creepy. But no, she’s the one who says, ‘I’m only going to have one glass.’ And we hang out on the show. We’re a cast but also friends.” Windham-Burke says the cast always goes out after filming. “But there’s usually one person that doesn’t join us.”
However, during the network televised program, Windham-Burke was cautious when it came to discussing Simpson’s marriage. “I think Emily and Shane have an arrangement and it works for them,” she observed. “They’re good parents. I think they are a great family. Every marriage is different. We can’t decide what works for them as opposed to what works for us.” However, co-guest Gary Janetti shared, “She seems unhappy.”
