‘RHONY:’ Dale Mercer Busts Tinsley Mortimer About Dating Billy Bush

Fans lost their collective minds when they spotted Tinsley Mortimer from The Real Housewives of New York City with entertainment reporter, Billy Bush.

Following her painful breakup with Scott Kluth, Team Tinsley fans were hoping she’d finally find her Prince Charming. Could it be Bush? As hopeful as fans were, Mortimer claims she is just friends with Bush and they weren’t dating.

She doubled down on this assertion during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. But, leave it mother Dale Mercer, to truly spill the beans about whether or not her daughter and Bush dated.

Just good friends

Mortimer and Bush were spotted together in early June, Radar Online reports. The two hit the Brooklyn Bowl and one eyewitness claimed they looked pretty cozy.

“They were bowling in a group, but they looked particularly cozy and affectionate with each other,” the eyewitness said. “They were super flirty.” Plus, the person added that Mortimer looked pretty happy too. “She looked really happy, which is so nice after all the drama she had with Scott on the show.”

Mortimer confirmed the two went out, but only as friends. “Billy and I have been good friends for a long time. And you know, I’m dating. I’m dating around,” she told US Weekly, Bravo’s The Daily Dish reports. According to People, Mortimer said, “He’s a good friend and is super fun. We all did go bowling together, it was a fun night.”

She (again) said they are just friends

A WHHL caller wanted to know if Mortimer and Bush could possibly be dating. Mortimer laughed and said, “Billy’s been a friend of mine for a long time and I did see him, we had been bowing, we had a lot of fun. But we are not dating.”

But Cohen wasn’t satisfied with that answer. He wanted to know if the pair were canoodling too. Mortimer looked a bit confused but grinned and added they are just friends.

Although Mortimer answered the question, Cohen knew there was one source who would give him the straight dirt. He turned to Mortimer’s mother Dale Mercer who was acting as the bartender for the evening.

Dale spills the beans

So Cohen asks, “Dale, how would you feel about Tinsley and Billy Bush?” Perhaps Cohen was thinking Mercer would offer a hypothetical answer and gets more than he bargained for instead.

Mercer laughs and hesitates. “Well,” she laughs. Meanwhile, Mortimer is rolling her eyes and telling her mother to stay out of it. “Well, I don’t know Billy,” Mercer starts. “But I know she had two dates with him.”

At this point, Mortimer looks totally busted. And speechless. Cohen breaks out into laughter, while Mortimer shrinks down in her chair and covers her face. Cohen is loving this as he and Mortimer talk over each other laughing. “Tinsley you just said you went bowling and it was nothing,” Cohen laughs. Mortimer looks at her mother, “I didn’t have two dates with him, what are you talking about?” Dale Mercer as the newest RHONY cast member? Yes, please.
