‘RHONY’ Fans React To Bethenny Frankel’s Revelation That She Is The Only Married One On The Show

When Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel announced she was leaving the show again, she said that it was time to move on so she could focus on other things, like her daughter, her philanthropy, her production partnership with Mark Burnett, and starring in shows that represent  “a shift in the conversation for women.”

But now the Skinnygirl founder has shocked fans a second time in as many days by kind of revealing that she had secretly tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend, Paul Bernon.

Did Bethenny Frankel really get married?

Frankel sent the internet into a frenzy when she announced she would not be a part of Season 12 of RHONY. Then, just a day later she shocked fans once again with a major announcement on Twitter.

The news comes as a complete shock to RHONY fans. While she was never afraid of talking about her relationship with Bernon and even sharing a few pictures of them here and there, Frankel is also locked in a never-ending custody fight with her ex Jason Hoppy.

Their divorce went on for years, and they have been slinging dirt at each other over their daughter Bryn for even longer. So many fans assumed she would probably never want to get married again.

RHONY fans react to Bethenny Frankel’s big news

While most fans were happy for Frankel and Bernon, some fans got extra excited and even hoped that she was planning a secret spin-off with former RHOBH star Lisa Vandepump.

“No!!! You cannot leave! Unless you and @LisaVanderpump are doing a spin-off I am finished with Housewives. You can’t have a reality show without the best!”

“Going to miss you, good luck and Mazel on your marriage!”

Another fan made some hilarious references to some iconic moments from past seasons.

Some fans also thought that perhaps she was referring to herself as “married” because her divorce from Hoppy isn’t final yet. But that is untrue. They are indeed divorced, but still locked in a custody battle.

How did Frankel’s ‘RHONY’ co-stars react to her departure?

Ramona Singer says it would have been nice if Frankel would have told the cast about her decision ahead of time instead of blindsiding them with the news.

Singer told People Magazine that she respects the fact that Frankel has decided to move on to other things, but she is disappointed that she didn’t inform her co-stars that she wasn’t coming back for Season 12.

“When she left in season 4, we found out through the press she was doing her spinoff, Bethenny Getting Married. She was upset we never congratulated her, but we were upset she never told us! And that’s how we feel now. There is a camaraderie among us as a cast. Love us, hate us, not like us — we are a team. To hear this from the press and not through her is upsetting,” Singer explained.

The 62-year-old says that she does wish Frankel well, and she is happy that she found the love of her life – Paul Bernon. Singer added that it’s fantastic the SkinnyGirl mogul is taking the time to grow the relationship away from the cameras.

As for RHONY, Singer says the show will go on, everyone in the cast is a cog in the wheel, and “no one is irreplaceable.”

Bethenny Frankel has left ‘RHONY’ before

Frankel joined RHONY in Season 1, but she left the first time after Season 3. She eventually returned during Season 7 and has been the star of the show ever since. Frankel says that she decided to leave the show a second time because she wants to explore her next chapter, and her goal is to highlight the strength, confidence, and unstoppable power that women have.

She says that her experience at Bravo has been “magical,” and she is grateful they gave her the chance to highlight her entrepreneurship and pave the way for women to achieve their goals.

Frankel says that the best is yet to come, and she made it clear that New York City is still her playground.

Season 12 of Real Housewives of New York – sans the married Frankel – will premiere on Bravo in 2020.
