‘RHONY’: How Andy Cohen Really Feels About Bethenny Frankel Leaving the Show
Bethenny Frankel is leaving Real Housewives of New York (RHONY) for a second time. The announcement was shocking to fans, but how does Andy Cohen feel about her decision? This is what he had to say about it and the reason she left.
Bethenny Frankel announced that she has quit the show
Frankel started on RHONY when it premiered and left after the third season. She returned for season 7 and now she has quit after season 12.
“I have decided to leave the ‘Housewives’ franchise to explore my next chapter,” she said in a statement according to Variety. “It’s time to move on and focus on my daughter, my philanthropy and my production partnership with Mark Burnett, producing and starring in shows which represent a shift in the conversation for women. With the changes in modern culture, I want to highlight the strength, confidence and unstoppable power that women have.”
The statement continued, “My experience at Bravo has been an incredibly magical ride. I am so grateful to them for highlighting my entrepreneurialism and allowing me to pave the way for many women to achieve their goals. I am excited for my future. The best is yet to come.”
She reportedly wanted more money
The businesswoman is one of the highest paid stars on the show. She reportedly wanted a raise for the upcoming season before quitting.
“[Frankel] was confident there were options out there for her. She’s happy in her personal life with Paul Bernon,” a source said according to Page Six. She reportedly “threw out a huge number to see if [the network] would agree.”
It didn’t work so she reportedly walked away from the show. Frankel is close to Cohen and he revealed how he feels about her decision.
Andy Cohen hopes she’ll return again
The producer revealed how he feels about the popular reality star leaving. He first talked about her previous exit from the show.
“My overwhelming feeling about Bethenny leaving RHONY, and I told her this six weeks ago were she going to leave, that I am so grateful that she came back,” he said on Andy Cohen Live according to People.
“She already left is what we need to remember,” he said. “We were so lucky to have these last seasons with her on it. And it was just so fun to have her back and she brought so much to the show that I just am living in the gratitude of her second return.”
He then revealed that he’s hoping history will repeat itself. “I will hopefully live in the gratitude of her third return, because we are much like the mob — you can’t get out,” he said. “I do hope and think that she will come back sometime.”
The talk show host teased that we might still see her in future seasons. “Who knows? She now, she’s so still a part of everything that’s still going on that you almost could see her dropping in and it’s like, ‘Oh my god. Okay! Bethenny’s at a party! Bethenny’s on this trip!’ You never know.”
Fans will have to wait and see if he’s right. There has yet to be an announcement of who is replacing her next season.
