‘RHONY’: Katharine McPhee Is Here for the Luann de Lesseps Comparison

Luann de Lesseps from The Real Housewives of New York City added faux bangs to her style and suddenly she was compared to singer-actor Katharine McPhee.

McPhee must have been watching the show because she tweeted about the moment as she clearly had a good sense of humor about it. “Thank you @CountessLuann. Kristin McPhee and I love you! #RHONY.”

Ramona Singer looked shocked when she saw de Lesseps. “You look like a totally different person,” she remarked. “Wait. You know who you look like? That famous actress who married the older gentleman. McPhee! You look like McPhee!”

Bathed in the compliment, de Lesseps added, “Oh, Kristen McPhee, really? That’s a compliment.”

Katharine McPhee’s husband David Foster may not love the moment quite as much

While McPhee had a sense of humor about the moment, her husband, acclaimed musician David Foster may not love it. Singer couldn’t remember his name, which often annoyed him when he was married to Yolanda Hadid. Hadid appeared on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Foster was frustrated when people only recognized him through her.

“I would get, and still get, ‘You’re on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,’” he said in the documentary David Foster: Off the Record. “What I want to say is, ‘Hey, I got 16 f**king Grammys, okay? I’ve sold half a billion records. F**k that show.’”

He often sounded pained at just the thought of being associated with the Housewives franchise. “The Beverly Hills Housewives was just kind of a nightmare for me and something that I really wish I hadn’t been part of,” he told the Los Angeles Times.

Foster hated that people were more interested in his involvement with the ‘Housewives’

Foster recalled an interview where the reporter seemed more interested in his involvement with RHOBH than his music accomplishments.

“And first question: ‘So, what’s Lisa Vanderpump really like?’ It was all about the Housewives,” he recounted to the Los Angeles Times. “I wanted to say, ‘I’ve got 16 Grammys, b**ch!’ But I didn’t. She really had no clue about my musical history at all. She only knew about me on the show. A lot of people loved that show. I can’t imagine why, but they did.”

He also claimed that he and Hadid didn’t divorce because she had Lyme disease. Hadid was filmed dealing with Lyme for a few seasons, with some cast members doubting her diagnosis. “How can I leave a sick woman? The fact of the matter is, that is not the reason why I left,” he said in the documentary. “It was for a different reason, which I will never disclose, but it had nothing to do with her being sick.” He then launched into his disdain for the series, which may have been a tease as to why he walked away from his marriage.  Adding, “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. That was a different story. Yolanda, wanted to do the show. I didn’t want to be the guy to say no.”
