‘RHONY’: Many Fans Miss Seeing Bethenny Frankel on the Show
Season 12 began with the shock that Frankel had left the series. Cameras captured each of the cast members receiving the news, looking stunned. “What?” Luann de Lesseps says pecking away at her phone. “This is ridiculous.”
“You’re kidding,” Dorinda Medley says also looking at her phone. Meanwhile, Sonja Morgan remarks about how the news is “huge.” The cast also seems to be floored because Frankel didn’t appear to tell the ladies she was leaving. Ramona Singer says, “To me, that’s an F you, I’m sorry. It’s an F you.” Although viewers witnessed the cast receiving the news and have had a few months to digest her departure, many still weren’t happy to see her missing from the show.
Fans were missing Frankel
A number of fans took to Twitter to express how much they missed Frankel. “Missing you so much tonight on RHONY,” one person tweeted, however many tweeted the same statement during the season 12 premiere.
Frankel tried to respond to as many comments as possible with emojis or a simple, “Awwww.” Many remarked how the show wasn’t the same without Frankel. “It’s just not the same.. you made the show,” a person tweeted. Some people anticipated the series would be boring without Frankel, despite the explosive first episode. “[100%]missing your! What a lame season opener,” a person shared.
Although Frankel isn’t on RHONY, she will return to television. “Not liking the show without you Bethenny,….. you were the show and we miss you,” one fan tweeted. But Frankel responded, “I miss you! I’ll be back on tv soon! I have my hands full with my daughter & #bstrong Stay tuned! Xoxo.” Frankel announced she partnered with Mark Burnett to create an Apprentice-style show called The Big Shot With Bethenny. HBO Max will stream the reality series.
She has her hands full with the pandemic
Frankel’s nonprofit BStrong rallied to provide the desperately needed medical supplies to hospitals and the medical community throughout the United States. “I am working my heart out. This is a daunting effort. Thanks for your support!” she responded to a tweet from a fan thanking her for her efforts.
Her organization has managed to donate masks and hazmat suits to healthcare professionals. “This is a moving target at all times. I realized very early—earlier than, I think, anyone—about the mask problem,” she told W Magazine. “I pivoted to dealing with masks and protective gear and gowns and working with state government and hospitals and individuals and executing the acquisition and the distribution of these masks for the most critical problem that we’ve ever had, which is that our health-care workers are basically firefighters fighting with out equipment.”
Frankel’s mask effort started with 10,000 masks and quickly grew to more than one million. “Ok @AndrewYang donate to #bstrong so we can donate millions of MEDICAL grade masks and hydration sanitization kits to hospitals nationwide. We started with 100k masks being distributed next week. [100%] of the effort goes to the relief,” she tweeted in late March.
