‘RHONY’: Tinsley Mortimer’s New Yulin Rescue Pups Get the Princess Treatment
Tinsley Mortimer from The Real Housewives of New York City was hit hard when her beloved dog Bambi passed away.
Her raw emotion was captured on camera as she mourned the passing of her furry companion as clearly she was in considerable pain. “[Bambi] is not just my dog; he’s my child,” she said to Ramona Singer and Sonja Morgan in an episode, Bravo’s The Daily Dish recounts. “He was everything to me.”
Although the cast was less than understanding about Mortimer’s grief, she soldiered on, ultimately rescuing two dogs and giving them the best life ever.
She rescued them from a horrific fate
Bravo fans are likely to be familiar with the horrific Yulin Festival where dogs are stolen from owners, tortured and then murdered. Lisa Vanderpump from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has championed an effort to abolish this inhumane practice in China, which is where Mortimer journeyed to adopt her new family members.
While Mortimer was visiting the rescue center in China, she interacted with as many rescued dogs as possible. “This baby Oreo is a Yulin Survivor! She was rescued and rehabilitated at the @nodogsleftbehindsanctuary near Beijing,” she posted to her Instagram. “She is ready to go to her forever home and I get the privilege of taking her on her Freedom Flight back from China to NYC!” Mortimer also helped out during her time in China. She included a photo where she is feeding one of the dogs.
Mortimer also found love with two special rescues too. “Meet my two new little adopted girls! 💞 Strawberry&Shortcake🍓🍰Rescues from the horrific dog meat trade in China,” she gushed. “I can’t wait to give them a happy and loving home in NYC! Losing my Bambi from cancer was so horribly painful for me and my family. We will never get over such a sudden loss of our little angel dog 😇 but being able to rescue these little girls from China fills me with such joy. I can’t wait to be their mommy!!!”
Strawberry and Shortcake get the 5th Avenue treatment
Mortimer’s new babies are now living the good life at her Manhattan hotel apartment. They arrived in New York in late June and Mortimer was ready to give them all the love they deserve.
As summer ticked on, Mortimer posted more photos of the girls who started looking healthier and happier throughout the weeks. She dressed them up in patriotic bows for July 4th. Plus the girls enjoyed a nice spa day too.
Mortimer and her pups also posed for a sweet family portrait too. “Family portrait time 💞Mommy and her girls! Strawberry&Shortcake 🍓🍰” Mortimer recently shared a photo of Strawberry and Shortcake donning matching pink ties, sitting on their special pink doggy chair. “I’m such a proud mommy! Look at my little sweeties Strawberry&Shortcake 💞🧸🍓🍰”
Although Mortimer’s grief is still apparent and she recently posted about missing Bambi, giving two new dogs a chance at a good life has to be a great way to honor Bambi’s memory.
