‘RHONY’: Wendy Williams Responds to Rumors That She is Joining the Show
The Real Housewives are always looking for new blood. Every few seasons, the cast starts to get a little stale, the storylines get tired, and Andy Cohen needs to bring in some new women to shake things up. Because seriously how many times can you listen to the same two women argue about the same thing?
The Real Housewives of New York City is a staple in the world of The Real Housewives. Originally called Manhattan Moms, the show was one of the first in the franchise. But even OGs need some shaking up every once in a while.
Why Wendy Williams is perfect for ‘RHONY’
Talk show host Wendy Williams has been through the wringer lately. First, there were rumors about her husband cheating on her. In the beginning, Williams tried to stand by her man and defended him to naysayers.
“Believe me you, when you’ve been with somebody for 28 years…married for 25 years…we know each other,” she once said of him on The Wendy Wiliams Show. “He’s my best friend, he’s my lover, he’s all this and he’s all that. I know what you’ve been seeing and I know what the streets have been talking about.”
“Anybody who’s been married for 5 minutes or 500 years, you know marriages have ebbs and flows,” she said. “Marriages are not easy. Don’t ask me about mine until you see this [ring] gone and it ain’t going anywhere—not in this lifetime.”
But eventually, things got to be too much and she left him.
“I am working on my divorce pleasantly,” she said on her show in May. “I am a single woman, running around New York. I go out a lot, I’m a good time girl I like to have fun.”
At first, Williams was dating a lot.
“I don’t have a boyfriend, but I must admit I am rediscovering my love of men,” she continued. “I do date and I date pretty often.”
But then she found a man!
“I’m not on the market anymore… I’m not in love, but there’s someone I’m crazy about!” Williams recently said during a “Hot Topics” segment of her show.
As a woman who is in a new relationship and living on her own for the first time in decades, Williams would make the perfect addition to RHONY. People are so interested in what she’s up to that ratings would definitely skyrocket.
Plus, Williams is known for telling it like it is so it would be interesting to see her interact with the rest of the women on the show.
What does Williams have to say about joining the show?
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like Williams wants to be a part of the Housewives world.
“I like the ‘Housewives’ … but if you have a talk show that is your own, why would you?” she said on her show of joining RHONY.
Besides already having her own show and not needing any more air time, Williams is also not down for the invasion of privacy that would come with being on the show.
“First of all, you’re not coming to my apartment,” she continued.
So, sadly it looks like we will have to keep watching RHONY sans Williams.
