‘RHONY:’ What Were Tinsley Mortimer and Sonja Morgan Really Fighting About at the Pride Parade?

Tinsley Mortimer from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was put in the hot seat about her fight with Sonja Morgan.

Mortimer appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and was confronted with the video of her fight. She grinned and squirmed while watching the video as the scene was re-hashed of the women in a screaming match before the New York City Pride parade.

The video, courtesy of Kelly Dodd from The Real Housewives of Orange County, shows the women not bickering, but screaming at each other in a crowded car on their way to Pride. The fight seems odd because it was unclear what exactly they were arguing about. But Mortimer (and mom Dale Mercer) set the record straight.

This seems to be an old argument

Video captures the women battling over a topic that appears to be so 2016. Apparently, the women were arguing long before the fateful car trip. according to People. Throw in some day drinking and the women had a lit match which led to the explosive fight.

In the car, Mortimer and Morgan battle over how Mortimer came into the RHONY cast. Morgan is recorded saying that Mortimer should be more grateful, likely about living in the townhouse. “Be nice!” Morgan yelled People recounts “Say thank you for the housekeeper. Hype me as a great friend. Say thank you!”

But then Mortimer reminds Morgan the state she was in when she joined the cast. “You still don’t understand which is so f**ed up,” Mortimer responded. “I literally walked in after being abused, mentally and physically by a man, I walked in within a month…” But Morgan interrupts Mortimer with, “It’s not about you! Why is it always about her?”

What was this ‘really’ all about?

Mortimer had to re-live the fight during her WWHL appearance. She was a good sport, giggling, but also cringing as she watched it played on a large television. After she finished watching Cohen wanted to know: what happened?

Mortimer graciously says, “Ok, so here’s the deal. Sonja and I, we go at it all the time,” she says. Adding cameras don’t pick up the amount of arguing they do. “But it’s the same argument that Sonja and I have had this entire time.”

Cohen looks surprised and asks if they were having it again. “We’re having it again,” Mortimer exclaims. “[She thinks] I’m not grateful for living in the townhouse, so once again.” Cohen again looks intrigued they are still having the infamous townhouse argument.

Dale Mercer has her own theory

Mortimer’s mother Dale Mercer, who manned the WWHL bar, had her own insights. “Sonja’s my girl, I love Sonja,” Mercer said. “She was so wonderful to have Tinsley stay with her.”

But this is where Mercer thinks her daughter may have gone wrong. “But Tinsley came in there sort of green. She was so appreciative of Sonja having her, but sort of wanted to stay out of her way a little bit. And I think it was the wrong thing to do.”

In 2017 Mortimer explained her friendship dynamic with Morgan. “Sonja is, honestly, we’re like sisters. She’s not threatened by me,” Mortimer said during a 2017 appearance on WWHL. “Sonja has her way of thinking that she’s helping me. To me, it seems like a jabbing and nagging, sort of, like, older sister. But to her, she’s actually thinking that she’s helping me.”
