‘RHOP’: Ashley Darby Welcomes First Child Amid Allegations of Husband Wanting to Sleep with a Man
Ashley documented much of her pregnancy on Instagram, including the stress of her baby being overdue, so it was only natural that she also shared the birth news via the social media site as well.
“I never thought this day would come,” she wrote. “When I learned I was pregnant, I started thinking about when I’d feel the first kicks. Then, when I was feeling the flutters, I wanted to know when I’d finally start to show. After watching the bump grow, my mind went to birthing day (WILL THIS REALLY HAPPEN?!) And when the day finally came that this sweet child came into our world, it felt like the sunniest day after a sky filled grey.”
Now that her son is here, she and Michael can’t get enough.
“The most sensational day of our shared life,” she finished. “Mickey and I are savoring every moment with our wonderful son.”
Michael and Ashley’s relationship
Michael and Ashley have not had the easiest marriage. The two were wed in May of 2014 after dating for two years. They split for six months after the second season of The Real Housewives of Potomac aired. Later, they were able to reconcile but have been constantly defending their marriage to the other women on the show ever since.
Allegations against Michael
This season, some of the other housewives have been accusing Michael of saying that he wanted to be intimate with a man. Robyn Dixon and Candiace Dillard claimed that the declaration came at Ashely’s uncle’s birthday party after the cameras left the event.
“After the night died down, Michael walked past us and said, ‘Yeah, I would suck his d—,'” Dixon said on last night’s episode. “You were there. You all were walking past us.”
Ashley denied that the incident occurred.
“It didn’t happen,” she said. “Michael would not say that.”
“In your state of intoxication, you’re saying to me that you were capable of remembering [what Michael allegedly said]?” Ashley said. “You were so drunk, [Candiace], you were laying out in the street. Robyn was so drunk she had to be put into an Uber!”
Unfortunately for Ashley, Dillard’s husband Chris Bassett also corroborated the story.
Later, Ashley continued to express her frustration.
“I just don’t understand why everyone is so fixated on trying to make Michael look like he’s gay,” she told Katie Rost. “He’s not gay. … He doesn’t hook up with guys. … My husband did not say that. If I was there, I would remember something like that.”
But for some reason, Dixon just couldn’t let the allegations go and brought it up again later in the episode.
“I would not make that up,” she told Ashley. “I know what I heard. If you are going to get so up in arms about someone repeating what he said, then he need not say those things. … I’m not going to sit here and lie and say that I made it up.”
