Fans finally got their wish when they announced they were dating again. While viewers wonder if they will ever get married again, they also question why the lovebirds ever ended their relationship in the first place.

Who is Robyn Dixon’s partner Juan Dixon?

Juan Dixon is a former NBA player. He was a star athlete on his college basketball team with University of Maryland and helped to lead them to their first NCAA championship in 2002. Juan was named Most Outstanding Player for his sportsmanship with the Maryland Terrapins during the final four in 2002 and was also ranked #2 overall by ESPN’s Coaches Poll.

Juan was drafted 17th overall by the Washington Wizards in the 2002 NBA draft. After three years with the Wizards, he signed as a free agent with the Portland Trail Blazers. He was strong in scoring but was traded in 2007 to the Toronto Raptors where he remained for one season before being exchanged for another player and moved on to the Detroit Pistons. Unfortunately, Juan’s time with the Raptors was short. He went back to the Wizards later that same year before signing with the Atlanta Hawks where he would be waived within a year. He played overseas before he transitioned into a career in coaching.

Juan moved back to his native state in Maryland where his coaching took off. His first job was as a member of the coaching staff for his college team, The Maryland Terrapins, in 2013. He was relieved of his duties with the Terrapins after three seasons. Juan showed his versatility when he was hired as head coach of the women’s basketball team at the University of the District of Columbia before being hired as the men’s head coach at the historically black college, Coppin State, where he remains.

Robyn and Juan stayed together through college and she was right by his side when he was drafted into the NBA in 2002. They married in 2005 when they were 25-years-old and had two sons, Corey and Carter. When Juan left the NBA in 2012, he and Robyn experienced difficulties in their marriage. They divorced in 2012.

RHOP fans were puzzled when the former couple revealed they were living together and shared the same bed despite being divorced when they joined the show in 2016. Viewers have watched the former couple try and navigate co-parenting with their unconventional living arrangement. As of season 4, they confirmed they were officially a couple again.

Why did Robyn Dixon and Juan Dixon split the first time?

Robyn and Juan have been divorced since 2012 but claimed to still live together for a variety of reasons. The main reason they decided to cohabitate was for the functionality of their family. It was important for both of them to raise their children under one roof, as Juan experienced growing up without a father and did not want his children to deal with the same.

Fans of the show questioned why they were not together if they behaved like a couple. Robyn revealed that Juan’s infidelity was a contributing factor in their divorce. Though their divorce was finalized, Robyn admitted that she hoped to one day reconcile with Juan.

Another reason Robyn says they divorced was due to bad financial investments on her part. According to Robyn, Juan trusted her to manage their finances. Robyn lost millions of dollars after a close friend of theirs scammed them, causing them to file for bankruptcy. Living together allowed them to raise their boys while they rebuilt their wealth.

Robyn says that remaining under one household post-divorce helped the two re-establish their love for each other. The two are now happy in a romantic relationship and hope to remarry within the next year or so.
