‘Riverdale’: Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart May Not Have Actually Broken Up
Chin up, folks. If you were heartbroken over the breakup of Riverdale sweethearts, Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart, then you may be able to put the gallons of ice cream and chocolate bars away because the relationship may not actually be over.
Earlier this week, outlets began reporting that the infamous couple had gone their separate ways. The public outcry was obviously swift and distraught. Many wondered how the two would continue working together on Riverdale despite ending their romance.
Sources even went as far as to talk about whether it would be awkward on set or not.
“Cole and Lili will be able to deal with it,” a source told HollywoodLife. “The show’s writers and producers are aware and will never make anything awkward that doesn’t have to be. Their working relationship will be just that. They can coexist and will continue to coexist because they know the show is important to them and so many other people who work for it and fans alike.”
But, recently Reinhart and Sprouse have come forward to basically say that all these “sources” have been making things up.
Did Reinhart and Sprouse actually break up?
Yesterday, Sprouse and Reinhart posted the latest W Magazine cover, which features them both.
“BREAKING: A reliable source has confirmed that none of you know sh**,” Reinhart wrote under the picture.
Sprouse’s caption took a slightly different route.
“UNPRECEDENTED: Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart consume the flesh of ‘reliable sources’ to fuel their bacchanalian sex cult,” he wrote.
Later, Reinhart took to Twitter to further clear things up.
“Don’t believe everything you read on the internet, kids,” she tweeted. “And news sources should try a little harder to be less vile. ‘Reliable sources’ can kiss my ass.”
Neither of them has directly said whether or not they are still together, but if those comments are anything to go by, we wouldn’t be so quick to rule the relationship out.
Were Sprouse and Reinhart having relationship issues?
Though they both said that the so-called “sources” may have gotten some facts wrong, that doesn’t mean that it has been completely smooth sailing for the couple.
In fact, when they did their interview for W Magazine, they decided to do it separately.
“We’re not fighting with the idea that people group us together, but we are paired up a lot,” Reinhart told the outlet of their decision. “We’re acknowledging that we’re in a relationship, but it’s a small part of who we are as people. We want our own separate identities.”
“Lili is an incredibly talented individual who speaks for herself and deserves her own voice box in every single way,” Sprouse said. “That alone is justification enough for me to do it like this. I don’t think we’re weaving two different narratives here.”
Since they’ve gotten together, they have been protective over their relationship and tried to keep things as private as possible.
“At first, I didn’t want things private,” Reinhart said. “Now that I’m X amount of years in, I do appreciate the privacy we have, that he’s encouraged me to take,” Reinhart said of Sprouse. “No one knows how long we’ve been together, and no one will until we’re ready to say it. No one knows how we fell in love, except for our close friends and us. It’s really special.”
