Prince Harry’s New Memoir Heavily Criticized by Royal Experts: ‘Written By Meghan’

Prince Harry recently dropped another bombshell piece of news on the royal family: He’s writing a memoir. The former His Royal Highness moved to the United States with his wife, Meghan Markle, back in March 2020. Since then, the two have lived a more private life, though they’ve spoken out about their royal experience since leaving.

Now, Harry is permanently inking his thoughts with a new memoir — and royal aides are reportedly already slamming the book.

Prince Harry revealed that he’s releasing a memoir

It’s the moment Harry and Meghan’s fans (and perhaps everyone else around the world) have been waiting for: Prince Harry is officially releasing a memoir — though most are looking at it as a royal tell-all. Vanity Fair reports that the book is slated to come out in late 2021; it’s unclear how far along he is in the writing process.

The book will reportedly cover the events of Harry’s life, including his childhood, marriage, and time in the military. Harry didn’t say whether the book would cover any royal drama, though it’s hard to imagine he wouldn’t at least touch on the issues that have plagued his relationship — and the entire family — since he and Meghan first met.

Harry also released a statement about publishing the book: “My hope is that in telling my story, I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.”

Royal experts and insiders slam Prince Harry’s memoir, saying it was ‘written by Meghan’

It seems people have already grown divided on the unreleased book. While some are thrilled to hear even more of Harry and Meghan’s side of the story — and this time, entirely from Harry’s perspective — others aren’t so pleased.

Daily Mail reports that royal insiders and experts have already spoken negatively about the book. Reporter Kirstie Allsopp slammed Harry for using his royal title in the book, despite saying in his statement that he’s writing it “not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become.”

Daily Mail also reports that a royal insider accused Harry of not writing his own book. “A book by Harry, as written by Meghan.”

Another insider described the royal family as “tired” of being angry with the couple. “They have spent the last 18 months doing everything they promised Her Majesty they wouldn’t do — making a living off their previous lives and status as members of the Royal Family.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are making money in various ways with their new life

Harry and Meghan might not have a royal income, but they certainly aren’t struggling financially. The two have already made plenty of money since starting their new lives in the United States. The couple signed a lucrative Netflix deal in Sept. 2020. Additionally, Disney+ paid Meghan to narrate a documentary and she wrote a children’s book, while Harry earned money from public speaking engagements before his announced memoir. The couple will certainly be fine without the financial help of Harry’s father, who Harry famously said cut him off financially once he and Meghan stepped down.
