Royal Fans Are Making it Known They Want Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew Back Together

All eyes are on baby Archie now that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had their baby, and we’re all hoping the family can come together and put Meghan’s family drama behind her. Meghan certainly isn’t the only royal family member with a dramatic history, either. From Princess Diana to Prince Charles, there are plenty of secrets and scandals that have caused rifts in the family in the past. And we can’t forget that Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, the parents of Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, were at the center of the drama for many years.

The two have been divorced for decades, but Fergie and Andrew are still on incredibly good terms with each other. And it appears that devoted royals fans would love for these two to rekindle their romance.

Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew have a long and troubled history

Fergie and Andrew’s tale first started back in 1985. The two met at an event taking place at Windsor Castle all thanks to Princess Diana, as she was the one to invite Fergie to the event. Once the two met, they had a whirlwind romance that led to a wedding just a year later.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t long before things devolved completely. Issues started as early as 1991, as Andrew’s career with the Navy meant Sarah was alone for months at a time. This ultimately led to the cheating scandal that completely rocked the royal family. Photos were released that showed Fergie getting her toes in the mouth of her financial advisor. While Fergie allegedly didn’t want to divorce Andrew after that, the constant ridicule and the shame she brought on the family eventually led to the divorce anyway.

That certainly wasn’t the only scandal between the ex-couple, either. Andrew was caught in a sex scandal of his own, and we can’t forget that Fergie was allegedly willing to give private information about Andrew away to reporters for over a half million dollars.

There have been rumblings that the two may be headed for remarriage

Despite how severely everything went down in the ’90s for Fergie and Andrew, they’ve still managed to stay great friends — and they even live together still. And today, Fergie has had nothing but great things to say about Andrew. She still calls him “my handsome prince,” after all, and even their daughter, Princess Eugenie, called the them “the best-divorced couple I know.”

So, is there any chance the two could remarry? Rumors stretching as far back as 2000 have sparked rumors, and when Princess Eugenie got married, many others noted just how close Andrew and Fergie remained as well. Daily Express notes one insider said, “Planning for the wedding has brought Andrew and Sarah closer together and made them realize how important their family is to them.”

Recent Instagram activity on Sarah and her daughters’ part has also gotten royal followers talking. Fans were commenting on this photo Eugenie posted of her parents as kids back in February, and many seemed supportive of the idea of Fergie and Andrew getting back together. As one follower commented, “Your momma and daddy need to get married again. The Queen is giving ok and thumbs up to everyone else.”

Fans keep commenting on Sarah Ferguson’s Instagram that they’d love for her and Andrew to reunite

As for what royal fans are hoping for, it seems everyone’s fully prepared for an Andrew/Fergie reunion at any time. Fergie recently posted a photo set on Instagram that included Prince Andrew at the Chelsea Flower Show, and fans went wild in the comments section.

As one fan commented, “You and Andrew should totally get remarried!! You’re still clearly in love with each other!!” Another added, “Andrew and you belong together.” Yet another Instagram user wrote, “Why don’t you two remarry!”

Could this Instagram post be a clue that Fergie and Andrew really are rekindling their past romance? We’re not sure — but fans would certainly like to think so.
