‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ alumna, Trixie Mattel, has her own makeup company, Trixie Cosmetics
Earlier in 2019, Trixie Mattel launched her own line of cosmetics, complete with lipstick, “sparkles,” and “sprinkles.” As the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars, this drag perform stated that she wanted to make cosmetics that worked well, wrapped in fun, toy-like packaging.
“I wanted to create a makeup line that takes you from backstage to a retro toy aisle. Is it possible for a product to make you feel like a kid but still be pro formulated? Yes honey,” Trixie Cosmetics’ website reads. The drag performer took it one step further, by creating YouTube tutorials in collaboration with the makeup company.
Trixie Mattel posted her video ‘Trixie Makeup On A Budget’ to YouTube
With the success of Trixie Cosmetics comes more YouTube content for fans. The drag performer has her own YouTube account with over 100,000 subscribers. On Oct. 7, she posted a new video, entitled “Trixie Makeup On A Budget.” There, she showed fans how to recreate her character’s mug using mostly drug-store brands. Granted, Trixie Mattel didn’t approve a lot of the colors, but the finished product was gorgeous.
The drag performer even poked fun at Shane Dawson and Jeffree Star’s documentary series, The Beautiful World of Jeffree Star, which recently trended on YouTube. Trixie Mattel tweeted, “Time cancel and expose. The Secret World of Trixie Mattel. The lies, the drama, and shocking truths.”
This is not Trixie Mattel’s first YouTube video, as the ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ alumna stars in the WOW Presents series ‘UNHhhh’
Trixie Mattel found success outside of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Of course, there’s her cosmetics company and her chart-topping country music. However, the drag queen also stars in a YouTube series, UNHhhh, along with former Drag Race contestant, Katya Zamolodchikova.
The two briefly took the comedic series to Viceland, changing the title to The Trixie and Katya Show. Now, the duo is back on YouTube, recording random, hilarious content for fans across the globe. During an interview with Fader, Trixie Mattel reflected on her relationship with Katya.
“I think Katya and I are both kind of loners,” Trixie Mattel said. “Our dream is to not spend a whole bunch of time together. That’s not my dream with anybody. Also, we never get to see each other ’cause we’re both skinny legends. We’re both skinny legends who tour all the time. When we do get to see each other, it is on camera. It’s sort of like, you know those viral videos of soldiers coming home from Afghanistan and then meeting their kid in first
Videos of Trixie Mattel can be found on YouTube. Fans of RuPaul’s Drag Race can watch episodes of the reality competition on VH1.com or on the VH1 App.
