Ryan Reynolds Is Excited for Blake Lively to Cut His Hair
Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively have been giving back during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. They donated one million dollars to food banks in Reynolds’ native Canada and the U.S. as well as $400,000 to New York hospitals. Reynolds’ Mint Mobile phone company is also giving free data to help people stay connected remotely.
Reynolds appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on April 1 remotely from his home. The Reynolds/Livelys are in self-isolation too and Reynolds shared how they’re keeping busy, including how his wife is keeping him clean cut.

Reynolds and Lively have three children. They’ve also invited Lively’s mother to stay with them.
“I’m here with my wife Blake, our three daughters, five, three and about eight months,” Reynolds said. “Those aren’t their names. Those are ages. And my mother-in-law is here. She’s been a life safer. She doesn’t know it but actually she’s emergency food if this gets real.”

With three daughters, Reynolds’ activities have been feminine. He makes no judgements about them though.
I like just being here with the girls. I like doing the girl stuff. I try not to push gender normative ideas on my kids as they were born. Each one, when they came out of that chute, they really wanted to make dresses, they wanted to dress in hot pink all day so that’s what I do. This morning I made dresses out of tissue paper. Not bad at all. We’re developing the skills that are going to take us into the new world.Ryan Reynolds on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, 4/1/2020
Reynolds and Lively are home schooling their daughters too. Outside of school, they are also trying to be productive with them.
“We’re lucky enough to have a little tiny garden so we’re learning a little bit about gardening,” Reynolds said. “We’re trying to make this an educational experience but I’m mostly drinking.”
Reynolds jokes about drinking but he also promoted his Aviation gin on The Late Show. Both he and Colbert enjoyed a drink remotely.
It’s up to Blake Lively to cut his hair
Normally, Reynolds can count on Hollywood stylists to make him look glamorous. In fact, he did so on the last day he worked before the stay-at-home orders.
“I was working on a film up until two weeks ago,” Reynolds said. “We shut down in the middle. Thankfully, I got a haircut on the day we shut down. I was thinking ahead.”
April 2 will be the day Lively gives Reynolds a haircut. He hopes she’ll improve on her last haircut.
“Blake is going to give me a haircut,” Reynolds said. “She’s done this once before. It took two and a half hours. At the end, it looked like she’d done the whole thing using only a lighter. You know those gloves that are made of sandpaper? It would’ve been a little faster if she’d just worn it down, if she just rubbed my head until the hair disappeared. Tomorrow I’m getting a haircut.”
