Sarah Cooper’s Netflix Special Might Not Have Trump Impressions
Sarah Cooper is one of the hottest up and coming comedians of the past several years. A talented writer as well as a stand-up comic, Cooper’s entrance into the world of comedy might have been unconventional, but she is certainly on a roll these days. With the recent announcement of Cooper’s new Netflix special, fans are looking forward to seeing even more of her talents — however, there is some concern among fans that Cooper’s most famous impression might not even make it onto the special.
Who is Sarah Cooper?
Sarah Cooper was born in Jamaica in 1977, according to IMDb. She spent only a few years in her birthplace before she and her family relocated to Maryland in 1980. Although Cooper felt drawn to the world of entertainment when she was young, she decided to get a traditional university education. Cooper attended the University of Maryland and received a degree in Economics and the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she earned a degree in Digital Design.
While working in Atlanta, Georgia, Cooper began to explore her passion for comedy and the performing arts. She began appearing at comedy clubs around Atlanta, performing standup routines, all while working as a user experience designer for Google during the day. Over the next few years, Cooper continued to pursue her comedy career, writing blogs and articles for several major magazines, but it wasn’t until 2020 that she really started to make a splash — with a very unlikely impression that made waves with millions of fans online.
Sarah Cooper is best known for her Donald Trump impressions
In the spring of 2020, while the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic raged around the world, Sarah Cooper began uploading Tik Tok videos of herself lip-syncing to President Donald Trump’s speeches regarding coronavirus. Her first video, released in April, quickly went viral, and Cooper followed it up with a series of other lip sync videos. Cooper has received praise from critics and fans for her Donald Trump impression, and while the president might not enjoy them (he has stated in the past that he would like to ban the video-sharing app Tik Tok) there are plenty of people who find Cooper to be one of the sharpest comedians around.
In August, reports revealed that Sarah Cooper would be getting her very own Netflix special, like so many popular comedians before her. While fans were excited about the announcement, questions remain about what content will be featured in it — and whether viewers will get to enjoy more of her famous impressions.
Will Sarah Cooper’s new Netflix special feature her Trump impression?
In an August 12th announcement, it was reported that Cooper’s new Netflix special would hit the streaming platform sometime in the fall, with the exact release date yet to be determined. Executive produced by a comedic powerhouse and Saturday Night Live alum Maya Rudolph, the special is titled Sarah Cooper: Everything’s Fine and will reportedly include “short interviews and sketches,” and will feature Cooper discussing “politics, race, gender, class, and other light subjects.”
That list is missing one crucial item — Cooper’s Donald Trump impression. Since the impression has become so notorious in recent months, it seems unlikely that the special would air without at least one Trump impression. Still, the fact that the announcement makes no mention of the impression being featured in the special has left fans with lingering doubts. Unfortunately, it seems as though those questions will only truly be answered when Sarah Cooper: Everything’s Fine makes its Netflix streaming debut later this fall.
