Sarah Ferguson Feels Sorry For Meghan Markle and Prince Harry But Refuses to Offer Advice for This Reason

Sarah Ferguson is opening up about the royal family like never before. In the wake of her ex-husband, Prince Andrew’s, controversial interview about his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, Sarah revealed that she feels terrible for everything Meghan Markle is currently going through with the media. The Duchess of York may relate to the Duchess of Sussex’s struggles, but she refused to give advice for this reason.

Sarah Ferguson relates to Meghan Markle

In many ways, Sarah was Meghan’s predecessor. After tying the knot with Andrew in 1986, every step Sarah took was covered by the media – and most of her actions were turned into a salacious story.

So it wasn’t surprising when, in an interview with Vogue, Sarah admitted that she completely understands Meghan’s strained relationship with the press.

“I know what Meghan is going through,” Sarah Ferguson shared.

Sarah added that she knows Meghan is going through a difficult time. She also believes the Duchess of Sussex is a modern woman who has already proved that she is an amazing person.

“It must be hard for Meghan, and I can relate to her. I believe she is modern and fabulous. She was famous before. She is great. Why can’t Meghan be great? Why can’t she be celebrated?” Sarah explained.

While Sarah Ferguson clearly knows what Meghan is experiencing, she refused to offer any advice to the young royal. So why wouldn’t Sarah, who probably knows more about what Meghan is going through than anyone else on the planet, give the former Suits star a bit of good advice?

This is why the Duchess of York refused to give Meghan Markle advice

Sarah actually had a simple excuse for not giving Meghan any advice on how to handle things in the royal spotlight. Without going into too much detail, Sarah revealed that she does not give advice to people because she fears it will be taken out of context.

“I tend not to give advice because it is taken out of context, but I have been in Meghan’s shoes, and I still am. There’s always a twist of negativity and it just gets so sad and tiring; it’s hard and mean,” she stated.

Sarah Ferguson noted that she hates bullying and that she feels very sad for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for everything they endure in the British tabloids.

While Sarah did not have anything to say to Meghan, the Sussexes could definitely learn from her mistakes.

During her disastrous marriage to Andrew, the Duchess of York began to fall apart and started to sabotage herself. This led her to the lowest point in her life, but it also inspired her to write the book, Finding Sarah, in which she tackles some serious mental illness issues.

Sarah Ferguson reflects on Princess Diana

It took her a long time to deal with her mental health issues, but Sarah has found a way to be more positive in her thinking. Writing her book about mental health has helped, as has her work in advocating for better awareness.

When it comes to her family, Sarah admitted that her daughters do not feel the same pressures as Meghan and Harry and are usually more down to Earth.

She also addressed her relationship with Harry and Prince William’s late mother, Princess Diana, who tragically passed away in a car accident in 1997.

Sarah Ferguson admitted that she and Diana were among the first royals to bring the monarchy into the modern age. She also confessed that she had a blast with Diana, whom she loved without question.

“Oh, I brought modern etiquette and fun, with Diana, Princess of Wales. Me and Diana had the best time. We really did, no question. I loved her with all my heart,” she said.

What about Prince Andrew?

Sarah Ferguson, of course, was also asked about how Andrew’s scandal has affected her family. She admitted that his ties to Epstein have been difficult to overcome and have placed an enormous burden on their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

She also revealed that whenever she talks with Andrew they always discuss their family. Sarah did not say anything specific about the accusations, but she did compliment her former husband for being a great man.

“To see such a wonderful man go through such enormous pain… He is the best man I know,” she revealed.

Andrew has been in the hot seat for several months now for his ties to the disgraced financier. One of Epstein’s victims recently came forward and accused Andrew of having sex with her when she was a minor.

Andrew has vehemently denied the accusations and tried to clear the air in a recent interview. The decision backfired on Prince Andrew, however, and he has since stepped down from his royal duties. It is unclear if he will ever return to the spotlight.

Sarah Ferguson did not comment on the disastrous interview, nor Prince Andrew being relieved of his royal duties.
