The Mandalorian has been renewed by Disney for its second season. Writer and director, Jon Favreau, shared that the new episodes may be coming sooner than fans anticipated.

Jon Favreau announced that ‘The Mandalorian’ season 2 will be available during Fall 2020

We have good news, Star Wars fans. The writer and director of The Mandalorian shared a picture of a new character along with the caption, “Season 2 of #TheMandalorian coming Fall 2020.” Jon has spoken. This isn’t the first time the creator of this Star Wars series spoke of future episodes. During one interview with Collider, Favreau elaborated on the highly anticipated second season of this television show.

“I keep getting pulled deeper into the orbit of Disney, but fortunately the stuff that Disney’s working on is the stuff that I love,” Favreau said. “I wanted to do a Star Wars TV show like The Mandalorian and pitched it to them and they were very open to it.

“I even wrote four episodes before I even was hired to do it because I was excited as a fan to see what these stories might be and see if they were interested in doing what I was interested in, which they were,” he continued. “And I was actually writing Season 2 this morning before I came here.”

There is no official premiere date yet for season two of The Mandalorian. However, fans are already excited to see the new adventures of this unlikely duo. One comment said, “[season 1] was marvelous! Bravo Jon! Can’t wait for season 2. This is the way!”
