He’s known for his conspiracy-theory videos and his documentaries about YouTube celebrities. Now, Shane Dawson is back with another mini-documentary. This one is about Eugenia Cooney and her return to YouTube. Here’s what fans are saying about Dawson’s latest investigation.
Shane Dawson hasn’t posted a new video in months
The last video Shane Dawson posted was one of his famous conspiracy theory videos. He looked at Brittani Louise Taylor and her past relationship, a voice app, and most prominently, Chuck E. Cheese pizza. Since then, Shane has been working on makeup with Jeffree Star and spending time with his fiancé, Ryland Adams.
His latest video explored the life of YouTuber Eugenia Cooney. After taking a break from YouTube and social media to work on her health, fans wanted an update regarding the cosplayer.
Shane Dawson’s new video was a mini-documentary about another YouTuber named Eugenia Cooney
In the past, Shane Dawson focused on YouTubers for his documentary series. That includes Jeffree Star, Jake Paul, and Tana Mongeau. The subject of this video was Eugenia Cooney, a YouTube personality famous for her cosplay and her love of Disney. She’s also been the center of concern within the YouTube community, some saying that after a short break from YouTube in January 2019, she passed away.
Ultimately, Cooney announced, in February 2019, that she would be taking a break from YouTube to “voluntarily working on this with [her] doctor privately.” After that, fans started asking questions. Of course, Shane Dawson went to find the answers. In his new video, Shane Dawson entered Eugenia Cooney’s home and asked her about her eating disorder, rehab, and the recovery process.
The response to Shane Dawson’s new video has been mostly positive
Within a few hours, “The Return of Eugenia Cooney” was trending on YouTube and “Shane Dawson” was trending on Twitter. Fans of both Eugenia Cooney and Shane Dawson reached out, saying how happy they were that Cooney finally got help.
“Trust and respect, in watching the first 10 minutes, that’s one thing I can highlight, you can be trusted and you respect people and, as a result, you can effectively tell people’s stories. Honestly didn’t think I could be more proud. Eugenia is so sweet,” said one Twitter user.
“I’m absolutely blown away. I loved it,
Since Dawson posted his video, Eugenia Cooney put up a short video entitled, “I’m Back.” Within a few hours, it was trending on YouTube, earning over a million views. As a result, the YouTuber weighed in on the response to Shane’s video on Twitter, thanking his fans for being so supportive.
“Seeing so much support is making me cry. Thank you guys so so much for being so kind and positive towards me. It’s been a really difficult year, and it’s a hard journey, but if I can overcome my demons, know that you can too. Love you all,” tweeted Eugenia Cooney.
