Should Thomas Markle Contact Meghan Markle About the Birth of Baby Sussex?
We’ve been waiting for the arrival of Baby Sussex for months, and the excitement level is at an all-time high. Some people think Meghan Markle has not yet given birth and other fans feel there are clues indicating the baby has already been born. After all, Doria Ragland —Meghan’s mother — has officially arrived in the United Kingdom.
What’s more, Meghan was noticeably absent from the family’s yearly Easter celebrations and an ambulance was seen parked outside Frogmore cottage. In addition, Prince William and Kate Middleton recently paid a visit to the duchess, and they didn’t arrive empty-handed.
While we will certainly know soon whether the royal baby is already here or if we have to wait a little longer, one question remains: Should Thomas Markle, Meghan’s father, contact his daughter and son-in-law regarding the newborn’s birth?
What happened between Meghan Markle and her father?
While we don’t exactly know for sure, we do know that right up until Meghan and Prince Harry’s spectacular wedding, everything seemed to be fine between the father-daughter duo. Thomas, who currently resides in Mexico, was planning on traveling to England to walk Meghan down the aisle on her big day. Harry even revealed that he had spoken to his future father-in-law by phone, and was looking forward to meeting him in person.
A few days before the nuptials, Thomas was caught in a scandal in which paparazzi photographs of him being fitted for a wedding outfit were staged, and he suffered sudden health issues. As a result, he was not able to attend the wedding, and he and Meghan have not spoken since.
Meghan Markle wrote her father a letter
In recent months, Meghan wrote a personal letter to her father, that was not meant to be shared with the world. It detailed her hurt feelings, and she was further devastated by the fact that her father released the contents of the letter to the news media. As if that weren’t enough, Thomas has done interviews in the past year, saying that he learned about his daughter’s pregnancy by listening to a news station on the radio.

Thomas is not the only one causing stress for the Duchess of Sussex. Royal fans are well aware of the fact that her estranged half-sister, Samantha Grant, has been attacking Meghan and Harry in the news media ever since they announced their engagement. She doesn’t hesitate to humiliate her younger sister with mean tweets, hurtful statements, and tell-all interviews. At one point, Samantha even made the trip across the pond to England but was ultimately turned away by palace security when she tried to visit her sister.
Would Meghan Markle like her father to meet the baby?
Although she has not spoken publicly regarding this, chances are, she would. This is an experience that Meghan would most likely want her father to be a part of, and it would be wonderful for Thomas to know his grandchild.
Should Thomas contact Meghan Markle and Prince Harry regarding Baby Sussex?
Meghan’s father should definitely make the first move and contact his daughter and son-in-law. If he doesn’t feel comfortable calling, a letter would do just fine, as Meghan would likely be overjoyed to hear from her father either way. At this point, many fans may feel that it is up to him to make the first move. Even if he is unable to come to England right away to meet his grandchild, it would be comforting to his daughter to know that he is thinking about her during this happy time in her life. After all, there is plenty of room at Frogmore cottage for any future visits.
