‘Sister Wives’: The Brown Family’s Recent Real Estate Purchase Has Raised Eyebrows
If there was any question about who is Kody Brown’s favorite wife, fans need only look at their real estate holdings to get the answer. Back in the summer of 2018, the family left their Vegas compound for more relaxed accommodations in Flagstaff, Arizona. While not everyone was on board with the move initially, they all ended up going, but it looks like the wives who weren’t exactly thrilled about the prospect of leaving Las Vegas got the raw end of the deal. Christina Brown and Robyn Brown are both proud homeowners in the state of Arizona, while Jenelle Brown and Meri Brown have been relegated to small rental properties. Robyn’s most recent real estate acquisition, however, indicates that she very much is Kody’s favorite spouse.
Jenelle Brown’s rental isn’t good enough for Kody Brown
Kody more or less forced his wives to abandon their Las Vegas homes in favor of Flagstaff. Both Janelle, Kody’s second wife, and Meri Brown, Kody’s first wife, had some reservations about the move. Nevertheless, they packed up their belongings and headed out of state. The two, however, seemed to get the worst deals when it came to housing.
Janelle is currently residing in a 2,400 square foot home, but allegedly, Kody refuses to visit the house because he doesn’t care for its plumbing. According to Radar Online, Kody ran into his wife and two sons at a local gym and was overheard telling them to take quick showers because the water heater was less-than-stellar. Kody left separately.
Kody doesn’t seem to be hanging out at Meri’s small rental either. Meri, who is an empty-nester, has been rumored to be on the outs with the family for years. She seems to spend the majority of her time traveling to Utah, where she owns an inn.
Robyn and Kody just closed on a new crib
When the family moved from Las Vegas to Flagstaff, it looked like they had plans to create their own private compound. The family purchased a large plot of land, but little seems to have been done with the property since then. Instead, the wives are spread across the city in different properties. Robyn’s rental, a sprawling home fit for a queen, was recently sold by its owner, and that meant Robyn and her kids needed to find a new place to live.
Instead of picking up another rental property until their land was ready, Robyn and Kody, instead, purchased a palatial estate. The 4,400 square foot home sits on four acres of land was listed for $900,000, according to The Daily Mail.
Pictures of the home suggest its perfect for large gatherings and entertaining, but it’s been suggested that Meri, Christine, Robyn, and Janelle haven’t been spending much time together since their move to Flagstaff. Rumors have also swirled that Kody’s three other wives haven’t been getting many visits from their husband, either. Instead, it appears that Kody’s been holding down the fort at Robyn’s house since the family’s move to the Arizona city.
The family seemed to be low on cash for awhile
Before the purchase of Robyn’s new crib, the Brown family appeared to be in financial trouble. The upcoming season of Sister Wives was far from guaranteed, and the family was still paying out on unsold properties in Las Vegas. They also fell behind on property taxes owed to the city of Flagstaff.
Back in April 2019 the family was in a tax hole to the tune of $8,000. They have seemingly brought most of those tax debts up-to-date, but their current purchase is still raising eyebrows. If they own the parcel of land and are currently renting three two properties while paying mortgages on two other homes, the money can only last so long.
Robyn also appears to be out of work. The mother of five closed down her jewelry website shortly after her arrival in Flagstaff. While the website claims it is being updated, nothing has happened with it for several months. Perennially unemployed, Kody Brown doesn’t seem to have much going on either.
