‘Southern Charm’: Ashley Jacobs Claims She’s Not a Villain
Southern Charm star Ashley Jacobs is infamous for her behavior on the show. It’s certainly an understatement to say that she hasn’t earned herself many friends amongst her peers in Charleston. So, fans and cast members alike were shocked when she returned to Southern Charm for Season 6.
Now, Jacobs is dealing with the backlash from her Season 6 appearance. Her feud with Patricia Altschul rages on, and she failed to establish herself as anything other than an antagonist to her Southern Charm castmates. But, according to Jacobs, she’s not a villain.
Ashley Jacobs’ feud with Patricia Altschul
Ashley Jacobs and Patricia Altschul are less than friendly. The two Southern Charm stars have been butting heads for some time now — and many fans have wondered why. According to Altschul, the source of their dispute comes from how Jacobs treated one of her friends.
Altschul says that Jacobs harassed one of her friends, and fans have reason to believe that it may have been Luzanne Otte, who Altschul set up with Thomas Ravenel in the past.
The Southern Charm grande dame took to Twitter to explain her dislike for both Jacobs and Ravenel. “Why people ask? Because of his and Ashley’s smear campaign, character assassination, lies and purposeful defamation.”
She added another tweet, writing, “And let’s add to that list an innocent friend of mine who was viciously cyberbullied by Ashley because of her obsessiveness and insecurity.”
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Altschul said, “She did the opposite of everything that I told her to do. I would say it hasn’t worked for her… She’s kind of the example of what not to do. If you could write a list of what not to do, she would personify that.”
Ashley Jacobs regrets what she said to Kathryn Dennis
Ashley Jacobs is infamous among Southern Charm fans for her verbal assault on Kathryn Dennis. Jacobs was dating Thomas Ravenel at the time, Dennis’ ex and father of her children. At one point, she told Dennis that she wasn’t a real mother, just an “egg donor.”
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Jacobs said, “I did say some hurtful things. My No. 1 regret is saying those things to Kathryn. My regret is not keeping my mouth shut. My regret is letting my feelings get the best of me, and reacting without thinking. Sitting on those feelings. My regret is saying those things in front of a large group, not pulling her aside and talking to her, and explaining my feelings.”
“I might have felt that way, but that wasn’t — that wasn’t the time or place,” she went on to say. “That wasn’t the way to do it
Ashley Jacobs says she’s not a villain
In her defense, the Southern Charm star is self-aware. She told Entertainment Tonight, “For me to be dubbed the villain, it hurt. I started to think, you know, where did I go wrong, and what could I have done differently? I can certainly be blunt, and I can certainly… I have a sharp tongue, and I know how that can be misconstrued.”
She went on to add, “[The biggest misconception about me is] that I’m evil, that I’m psychotic. That I, you know, need mental help. I mean I did, I got some help for the situational depression.”
But, in an interesting addition, Jacobs says that the truth will come out eventually. “The truth always rises to the top. It could take a few months, it could take a year, it could take two years, but it will come out. And I’m gonna be able to tell people, ‘I told you so!’ Yes, I’m gonna be able to say ‘I told you so.'”
