‘Southern Charm’: Danni Baird Says LeCroy Targeted Her With STD Comment On Purpose
There was palpable tension in the air for the Southern Charm crew during their recent Colorado trip. The entire vacation got off to a bad start when Craig Conover and Chelsea Meissner ripped into each other on the bus prior to even leaving. Things continued to stay weird when Kathryn Dennis felt put out by a weed-based dinner. But quite possible the most dramatic and shocking argument arose between Madison LeCroy and Shep Rose.
In a move that upset basically everyone involved, LeCroy let slip an awful STD rumor, and immediately alienated several castmates. Now, Danni Baird is saying that LeCroy let the rumor slip on purpose — and there may have been an ulterior motive to targeting Baird specifically.
What LeCroy let slip
Southern Charm stars Madison LeCroy and Shep Rose have never exactly been on good terms. It’s clear the two share a mutual dislike. Unfortunately, it seems this dislike got the better of Madison LeCroy during a recent altercation with Rose.
While the two were arguing during the Southern Charm Colorado trip, LeCroy saw an opportunity to attack and went for it.
“You don’t f****** scare me. You’re a bully,” LeCroy told Rose. “You want to know facts? I heard you gave her chlamydia. That’s what I heard,” said LeCroy of Danni Baird, who was sitting nearby. “That’s a fact … Ask Austen.”
When Rose protested that it’s a false rumor, LeCroy replied, “Well if it’s not true, that’s fine.”
Rose countered with, “It’s not fine. I don’t understand you. What’s the anger come from? … And Austen told you? So now you’ve thrown him under the bus. You’re a tornado. You just hurt three people, or tried to. Was it worth it?”
Danni Baird added, “If you want to hurt him, that’s fine. But why the hell would you just do that to me? You truly don’t know what you’re talking about, and you are hurting people who shouldn’t be hurt. I’m on your team, so why the f*** are you acting like this?”
Shep Rose says it’s all about winning
According to Shep Rose, when it comes to his Southern Charm nemesis it’s all about winning, and that’s it. Rose implied that LeCroy will do whatever it takes to win an argument, even if it’s really not worth the fallout.
Said Rose, “There always has to be an enemy with her. She said some really harmful things, and said that Austen told her them. Again, she’d rather burn the city than bow out.”
Danni Baird thinks there’s more
Baird said, “She operates out of spite. And any way she can pull like, somebody else in it at that time, or if she thinks she has ammunition and it may include an innocent victim, she’ll say it. It doesn’t matter if it’s true.”
Danni Baird suspects there’s more to why Madison LeCroy decided to unleash the chlamydia rumor — that it’s not all about Shep Rose after all.
According to Baird, LeCroy had sent messages to Danni Baird’s boyfriend while LeCroy was still dating Austen Kroll. Baird had informed Craig Conover of the situation, and Conover ended up telling Austen Kroll.
“I think she had harbored that, and I had no idea. I mean, I had actually done everything I could possibly do to kind of protect her in that situation as it was unraveling and not have it escalate into something bigger, but I also had no idea that I had literally given Craig Conover ammunition,” explained Baird to The Daily Dish.
“I didn’t know their relationship backstory, and quite honestly, I couldn’t have cared less. The last thing I ever wanted was for her and Austen’s relationship to be exposed as unhealthy on my behalf,” said Baird.
Baird went on to add, “Shep and I dated almost a decade ago, and we, or at least I, did not even know Madison and Austen back then. So what she said is completely untrue and unfair. It was hurtful. She was trying to target Shep, but I know good and well she threw me in there for a reason, subconsciously or not. And it’s just been really hard for me to comprehend how you can do that to somebody else. It’s not my nature.”
