‘Southern Charm’: Shep Rose Says Ashley Jacobs Should Just Go Back to California

Season 6 of Southern Charm just blew away fans and cast members alike. It’s official, Ashley Jacobs has made her explosive return to the show amid her bitter feud with Patricia Altschul. And it’s not just Patricia Altschul — Ashley Jacobs is infamous for calling Kathryn Dennis nothing more than an “egg donor,” not a real mother, and for alienating her fellow cast mates in a variety of ways during her tenure on Southern Charm

Suffice it to say, Ashley Jacobs’ return didn’t go over well. In fact, Shep Rose says it’s time for her to just go home.

How the cast reacted to Jacobs’ return

Suffice it to say Southern Charm cast members were less than pleased to see Ashley Jacobs walk onto the scene during Season 6.

Cameran Eubanks told Entertainment Tonight, “I was shocked when I saw Ashley. But then, I wasn’t. I was hoping that if she had any sense, she would go back to California, which is her home, which is where she’s from, where all her family and friends are. I cannot believe she stuck around.”

Eubanks went on to add that perhaps Jacobs was seeking redemption. “I think Ashley got a lot of negative feedback after she was so awful, especially on social media,” said Eubanks. “I think Ashley wanted to come back this year and try to make amends because she felt bad. But the question is, did she really feel bad? Was it genuine from the heart, or did she want to make herself look good?”

Kathryn Dennis said, “I think that nature takes its course with humans like her. I mean, she self-destructs and that’s what nature does. It’s hard to come up with words to talk about her because she doesn’t make sense herself.”

Ashley Jacobs vs. Patricia Altschul

It didn’t take long for Ashley Jacobs to get into it with the Southern Charm cast over her past behavior. Jacobs and Southern Charm’s grande dame, Patricia Altschul, were feuding last time she was on the show. According to Altschul, Jacobs once harassed one of her friends, and she just wasn’t having it any longer.

Altschul took to Twitter to clarify her dislike for Jacobs and Ravenel. “Why people ask? Because of his and Ashley’s smear campaign, character assassination, lies and purposeful defamation.”

She followed up with another tweet. “And let’s add to that list an innocent friend of mine who was viciously cyberbullied by Ashley because of her obsessiveness and insecurity,” tweeted Altschul.

Go home, says Shep

Now that Ashley Jacobs is back on the scene with Southern Charm, Shep Rose has a few words for the star.

In an interview with Hollywood Life, Rose starts out by saying that if Ashley Jacobs makes you mad, that might be on you. “I mean, I can’t believe she came back. It was just to raise eyebrows, honestly. But that’s okay,” said Rose. “She didn’t do anything to me. She didn’t really do anything to anybody. She just kind of said some vile things, right? So, I mean, if you let someone affect your life, then that’s on you. That’s how I feel about it.”

Fans and Southern Charm castmates alike were wondering if Jacobs would actually make any apologies. It seemed like she might try, but unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be.

“There’s, I guess, some reconciliation that occurs, and she’s her own worst enemy. She won’t back down,” explained Rose. “If I were her, I would go back to Santa Barbara. What a beautiful city that she’s from. Just go there. Obviously, it hasn’t worked out in Charleston.”
