‘Southern Charm’: Thomas Ravenel Subpoenaed This Co-Star in Custody Battle

Thomas Ravenel’s been fired from Southern Charm, but that’s not stopping him from getting involved with the rest of the stars. Ravenel’s court battles with his ex, Kathryn Dennis, have been ongoing for quite some time, and they’ve been heating up. Accusations and allegations have been coming to light, and they’ve revealed some nasty truths about Ravenel’s past behavior. Now, to try and get an upper hand in the court proceedings, Ravenel has gone as far as subpoenaing a fellow Southern Charm star.

Why the custody battle?

In 2016, Thomas Ravenel and Kathryn Dennis broke up. However, it wasn’t meant to be that simple. The two had already had two children, daughter Kensie and son Saint.

In October of 2018, Kathryn Dennis filed for sole custody of her children with former Southern Charm star Thomas Ravenel. This comes after Dennis’ time in rehab, recovering from substance addiction revealed in the courtroom. After her addiction issues were revealed in 2016, Thomas Ravenel was granted custody of the children. Now that Dennis is sober, she’s seeking to claim full custody.

What pushed Kathryn Dennis to pursue full custody?

Dennis aimed to gain full custody after a shocking revelation regarding Ravenel’s behavior. In 2018, Ravenel was arrested for second-degree assault and battery. These charges come from allegations brought against Ravenel in 2015 by a former nanny, Dawn Ledwell.

Ledwell claims that Ravenel sexually assaulted her. Dawn told People, “I turned around and he had his pants dropped, not wearing underwear … He was blocking the door. I was mortified, embarrassed, and scared.”

As a result of this arrest, Bravo notified fans that Ravenel would no longer be appearing on the television show. “Haymaker, the production company for Southern Charm, and Bravo take allegations like these very seriously,” said Bravo to Us Weekly. “Haymaker is conducting an investigation, and once all the information is gathered and carefully reviewed, appropriate action will be taken.”

Ravenel subpoenas Patricia Altschul

Ravenel seems to think that Patricia Altschul can provide information that can help his court case against Kathryn Dennis, and decided to subpoena her. However, the 77-year-old Altschul is requesting that she not be required to testify.

According to The Blast, Ravenel believes Altschul’s deposition would be relevant because, “Altschul has known both him and Dennis for many years as both a friend and co-star on Southern Charm. He says Altschul has witnessed them both with their kids and has relevant testimony to give in the case. He believes she may have text conversations that back up his claim Dennis colluded with another woman to accuse him of sexual assault.”

However, Altschul says she is only being targeted for deposition because she’s on the television show, and that this is nothing more than an act of harassment. Altschul’s lawyer went on to say that Altschul, “should not be subjected to hours of questioning regarding issues that are totally irrelevant to this case,” due to her advanced age.

Ravenel disagrees, however. According to The Blast, Ravenel feels that if Altschul has. “energy to be the star of a reality TV show, she should have the energy to appear for one afternoon of deposition.”

It seems as if Ravenel doesn’t want Southern Charm to air heretofore unaired footage his children and Kathryn Dennis during which his legal battles are discussed, particular those involving sexual assault.
