‘Southern Charm’: Thomas Ravenel’s Ex-Girlfriend Claims Jacobs and Ravenel Harassed, Terrorized Her

Former Southern Charm star Thomas Ravenel gained a reputation both during and after his time on the show, and it’s not a pleasant one. The disgraced politician previously dated Kathryn Dennis, and the two split up in 2016. Since then, they’ve been fighting over custody of their children in court, and Ravenel’s behavior has gotten particularly nasty. Ravenel has dragged Dennis’ nudes into court, continues to accuse her of drug abuse after her stint in rehab, and claims she’s conspiring with both Bravo and Andy Cohen to defame him.

Ravenel was fired by Bravo after being accused of sexual assault for the second time and is now facing charges of second-degree assault and battery. Even Ravenel’s most recent ex-girlfriend, Ashley Jacobs, is now calling her time with Ravenel “dark.”

However, it should be noted that Ravenel and Ashley Jacobs operated as a frightening duo on Southern Charm, according to castmate Patricia Altschul, who claims they frequently harass people and cyberbully them. As a matter of fact, one of Ravenel’s previous romantic interests, Luzanne Otte, is claiming Jacobs and Ravenel actively harassed her frequently.

How did Thomas Ravenel and Luzanne Otte meet

It turns out the former Southern Charm star met Luzanne Otte through one of Patricia Altschul’s social functions. Ravenel first met Otte during one of Altschul’s many cocktail parties. However, according to Otte, she wasn’t interested at first.

“I met Thomas in Spring 2017 at a cocktail party hosted by Patricia Altschul in Charleston. At the time, I was not interested and did not accept subsequent invitations,” Otte told FitsNews.

In a rather odd move, Ravenel pursued Otte further by approaching Altschul. According to Otte, “In June, Thomas met with Patricia where he disclosed that the woman he had been dating, Ashley Jacobs, was ‘not a substantial woman’ and he wanted to be with an educated, cultured woman. Thomas requested that Patricia put in a good word and confirmed his intention to break up with Ashley to date me.”

If nothing else, it’s pretty telling that Ravenel would openly call his current girlfriend “not a substantial woman.” For reasons that will soon be clear, Ravenel’s brief dalliance with Otte was not meant to last.

According to Luzanne Otte, Thomas Ravenel is not the social charmer he might appear at first blush — a fact that Southern Charm fans may be well acquainted with.

“Patricia Altschul is like a second mother to me, and I respect her opinion greatly.  If she saw something in Thomas, I could give it some time to see if it is a relationship worth pursuing. He told me he had broken things off with Ashley, and that he wanted to see me.  He came out to California for polo, and we spent a few days together and had a nice time. Thomas can be charming. But soon after that when I came to Charleston, I discovered a different person,” she told InTouch.

Ravenel apparently lost his cool after what Otte thought was an otherwise pleasant date together. “We had returned back to his house after what I thought was a nice dinner and I was getting my things together to head home. I heard yelling from downstairs and thought Thomas was on the phone. I looked out to see that it was me that Thomas was screaming at, and he was stomping up the stairs.”

Otte said that Ravenel cornered her. “He got close to me and tried to physically intimidate me, cornering me for a minute, but I was able to get around him. He was right in my face, screaming. He didn’t hit me, but it was almost scarier than being hit. He seemed almost possessed,” she explained.

Otte claims she faced harassment

According to Patricia Altschul, the disgraced Southern Charm star proceeded to harass Otte once Otte broke things off. Apparently, Ashley Jacobs joined in. Altschul clarified her dislike for Ravenel and Jacobs via Twitter,

“Why people ask? Because of his and Ashley’s smear campaign, character assassination, lies and purposeful defamation,” tweeted Altschul, when fans wondered why she no longer supported the two.

“And let’s add to that list an innocent friend of mine who was viciously cyberbullied by Ashley because of her obsessiveness and insecurity,” tweeted Altschul.

This seems to be a reference to Otte, who suffered from a variety of attacks after she moved on from Ravenel. According to Otte, she was soon being written about by Ravenel’s friends in gossip blogs, while Ravenel and Jacobs continued to slander her name on social media.

“The physical threats have been the most frightening, but the accounts created to impersonate and mock my family have been the most painful,” explained Otte to FitsNews.

“Being terrorized for five months without interruption has transformed my view of humanity.  Prior to meeting Thomas, I had not been exposed to the abject hatred of strangers,” she went on to add.

It defies all reason

According to Otte, Thomas Ravenel and Ashley Jacobs were merciless and utterly unreasonable during their assault on her character.

“Thomas and Ashley’s uninterrupted and systematic attacks defy all reason. If I have learned anything from this experience, it is that attempting to apply reason to the unreasonable is an exercise in frustration,” said Otte.

Before completing the interview, she went on to say that the cast of Southern Charm can confirm that she has never gossipped about Ravenel or Jacobs, and has never tried to harm their characters or defame them the way they have her — she also confirmed that she had a Cease and Desist sent to Thomas Ravenel and Ashley Jacobs to curb their harmful behavior.
