Southern Charm’: Thomas Ravenel’s Ex-Girlfriend Recalls Terrifying Night, ‘He Seemed Almost Possessed’

As Southern Charm fans might know, Thomas Ravenel doesn’t have a reputation for gentleness. In fact, quite the opposite — the former Southern Charm star was fired by Bravo after being accused of sexual assault and charged with second-degree battery and assault. Ravenel’s shadow continues to loom over the cast of the show as his bitter custody battle with Kathryn Dennis rages on.

However, Kathryn Dennis isn’t the only woman Ravenel has left behind — one of his ex-girlfriends, Luzanne Otte, is coming forward to dish on a terrifying night with Thomas Ravenel that made her fear for her safety.

How did Thomas Ravenel and Luzanne Otte meet?

Thomas Ravenel and Luzanne Otte met at a cocktail party hosted by Southern Charm’s Patricia Altschul. According to Otte, she wasn’t interested at first.

Otte told FitsNews, “I met Thomas in Spring 2017 at a cocktail party hosted by Patricia Altschul in Charleston.  At the time, I was not interested and did not accept subsequent invitations.”

According to Otte, Thomas Ravenel wasn’t willing to give up. “In June, Thomas met with Patricia where he disclosed that the woman he had been dating, Ashley Jacobs, was ‘not a substantial woman’ and he wanted to be with an educated, cultured woman.  Thomas requested that Patricia put in a good word and confirmed his intention to break up with Ashley to date me.”

While this is a truly bizarre way to essentially ask someone out, Otte said she went for it because she trusted Altschul’s judgment. “Patricia Altschul is like a second mother to me, and I respect her opinion greatly,” explained Otte. “If she saw something in Thomas, I could give it some time to see if it is a relationship worth pursuing. He told me he had broken things off with Ashley, and that he wanted to see me.  He came out to California for polo, and we spent a few days together and had a nice time. Thomas can be charming. But soon after that when I came to Charleston, I discovered a different person.”

However, Luzanne Otte quickly learned that the former Southern Charm star has a darker side to his social and charming personality. According to Otte, Ravenel once terrified her with a sudden change of behavior at home.

“We had returned back to his house after what I thought was a nice dinner and I was getting my things together to head home. I heard yelling from downstairs and thought Thomas was on the phone. I looked out to see that it was me that Thomas was screaming at, and he was stomping up the stairs,” said Otte.

Otte added that Thomas Ravenel tried to intimidate her and that he was behaving like someone totally different. “He got close to me and tried to physically intimidate me, cornering me for a minute, but I was able to get around him,” she explained. “He was right in my face, screaming. He didn’t hit me, but it was almost scarier than being hit. He seemed almost possessed.”

Luzanne Otte isn’t the only one who’s claimed times were tough with the former Southern Charm star. Kathryn Dennis comes to mind, of course, but more surprising are Ashley Jacob’s recent claims that times were “dark” while she was with Thomas Ravenel.

Jacobs told Entertainment Tonight, “It was dark, and it was really lonely. I lost a lot of weight. I wasn’t taking care of myself mentally, and I felt that I had so much more that I wanted to say and to do.”

Jacobs went on to say that she suffered from depression during the time she was with Thomas Ravenel, “There was a lot of regrets, and a lot of things I wanted to do over. The more I tried to control that, or wish things were different, the worst — the more of a toll it took on me. I suffered from depression, situational depression.”
