‘Southern Charm’: Who Took Care of Shep Rose After His Most Recent Knee Surgery?
Shep Rose from Southern Charm endured yet another knee surgery, but this time he had a very special nurse. Cameras captured Rose’s previous knee surgery where pal Kathryn Dennis helped him get him home safely.
This has unfortunately become a more than a one-time event for Rose and he wasn’t candid about why he had the most recent surgery. However, he was very open about who was by his side during the recovery. His new best bud and French Bulldog, Lil Craig helped to nurse Rose back to health.
He shared a few images to his Instagram story last month where the pup is convalescing with him, almost being protective over Rose’s knee. Rose shared his thoughts on life with Craig both before, during and after surgery.
Protecting or pillow?
Dogs have amazing instincts so when Rose hobbled home with his bandaged knee Craig knew exactly what to do. Bravo’s The Daily Dish shared some images from Rose’s Instagram story of how Craig was lovingly watching over his dog dad during recovery.
Craig’s head rests on Rose’s fully bandaged knee. He wrote, “Wait. He was scoping it out for a pillow (and protecting?).” The next image is of Craig looking alert and at the camera. One paw is resting gently on Rose’s knee. “@goodboycraig is protecting my knee post surgery. #wedon’tdeservedogs,” Rose posted.
Ever since Rose adopted Craig he’s been completely smitten with his new pal. “He loves French fries and food in general. Also, loves the beach. He hates being alone, like some of us humans.” Rose dished with Showbiz Cheat Sheet in July. “He’s a wild man, loves people and being in the middle of things. And he’s mischievous. So he’s like me and Craig in that regard,” Rose adds.
Why did Rose have knee surgery?
Rose is rocking the knee brace in recent Instagram photos so he’s still on the mend. He wasn’t clear about why he had a recent surgery but told Bravo’s The Daily Dish why he had to have the operation in 2017. “It was something that happened over time. It wasn’t a seismic event — it was just wear and tear and I got my knee scoped,” he said.
What does Rose think caused his knee issues? “Surfing, football, God knows what else,” he said. “Partying — an old partying injury.” But added he experienced a pretty scary moment in Los Angeles, California that prompted him to seek medical treatment.
“I was in L.A. this summer and woke up one morning and couldn’t move. And I didn’t know what the hell happened,” he recalled. “I must have injured it ’cause it was feeling kind of weird before that. So I went to my friend’s house in L.A. in Venice Beach and he doesn’t have air conditioning, which is insane. I guess at night it gets cool in Los Angeles, but I’m sitting there sweating on the couch. My leg can’t move and I ordered GrubHub and got some bad Chinese food and got sick. And I was throwing up and I also couldn’t move. It was one of the worst days of my life. So I was like, ‘I got to get this fixed.’ So I got it fixed — that’s the good news,” he explained.
