Dash sent to detention center

According to Florida news station WTSP, Dash was arrested for domestic battery in Pasco County, Florida. The 52-year-old Clueless actress was arguing with a man on Sunday night when she pushed and slapped him in the face. Per deputies on the scene, one of the man’s arms was covered in red scratches.

After being booked for the domestic battery charge, Dash was then sent to the county’s Land O’ Lakes detention facility. Her bond was set at $500.

The victim is allegedly Dash’s husband

ABC News reports the incident occurred at an apartment complex in New Port Richey, a suburb of Tampa, but it is unclear whether that is where she resides. It is thought that the victim in the domestic violence dispute is Dash’s fourth husband, Jeffrey Marty.

Last October, the two tied the knot in a secret ceremony 10 days after they met. According to People, Marty is a Florida attorney who gained notoriety for setting up a fake social account for a fictitious Georgia congressman named Steven Smith.

Marty used the phony account to pose as the “first congressman” to endorse Donald Trump for president, and the Twitter account is still active today.

Dash, who has two children of her own, is stepmother to Marty’s three children from a previous marriage. It is believed they all live in the Tampa area.

Dash fell off the radar after abandoning political ambitions

Dash worked as a Fox News commentator from 2014 to 2017, and in 2018, announced a run for a Republican seat in California’s 44th district. Per the Washington Post, one month after declaring her candidacy, she dropped out of the race with a statement:

“At this point, I believe that the overall bitterness surrounding our political process, participating in the rigors of campaigning, and holding elected office would be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of my family.”

Shortly thereafter, she met and married Marty. Before him, she was married to actor Emmanuel Xuereb and filed for divorce from him in 2010, accusing him of physical abuse. The pair were married for two years and she filed a restraining order against him during the split.

Since marrying Marty, Dash has largely stayed out of the limelight, but has several acting projects in the works.

In the past, Dash has spoken about domestic abuse

Dash considers herself a survivor–not a victim–of domestic abuse and has been outspoken about her own experiences. She discussed some of the details laid out in her book, There Goes My Social Life, during an interview with ET in 2016.

Dash shared that when she was living through it, it took a toll on her self-worth, but the birth of her first child motivated her to view her life differently.

“It took me having my son, and having something happen with my son there, for me to say, ‘No. My child will not go through this,’ My child’s life was more important to me.”

It is unclear whether Dash is still in custody or if she’s been released by the Pasco County Sheriff’s Department.
