What Star Wars Fans Want To Take Away From the Final ‘Rise of Skywalker’ Trailer

There’s only one trailer left before Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres. Its all lead up to this — this film is the last movie in the sequel trilogy and fans have a lot of questions. The wait is almost over. The final trailer for this third movie premieres Oct. 21, 2019, during Monday night football. More importantly, as one fan pointed out, this trailer comes out on Carrie Fisher’s birthday. One Twitter user said, “The Rise of Skywalker trailer will be release on Carrie Fisher’s birthday! The final movie of the Skywalker saga will have its final trailer on the day the actress responsible for playing the heart of this story was born! I wish I could stop crying.”

Some fans are wondering about who the new (and old) characters are in ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’

There are plenty of new characters in this upcoming movie, like D-0, Zorri Bliss, the Knights of Ren, and Jannah. However, from the teaser trailer, fans saw that no one is ever truly gone. That includes Emperor Palpatine, the villain from the original Star Wars trilogy. Will Emperor Palpatine return to finish with Snoke started with Kylo Ren?

Of course, one big question some “Reylo Stans” have is whether or not Kylo Ren and Rey will fall in love. Will Rey save Ben Solo and win his heart in return? Actress Daisy Ridley addressed the concerns during an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

“It does not bother me, people writing theories,” Ridley said. “It’s really fun hearing them. Plus, because I know what’s sort of going to happen, I think it’ll be really interesting to see people’s reaction to [the final film]. Obviously, there’s this whole Reylo thing and some people are very passionate about it, some aren’t.”

“J.J. does deal with [it],” she continued. “It’s a very complex issue. People talk about toxic relationships and whatever it is. It’s no joke and I think it’s dealt with really well because it’s not skimmed over.”

Other Star Wars fans wonder if Rey will actually turn to the dark side

The last time fans caught a glimpse of Rey and Kylo was in August, with the D23 special look. This preview, albeit brief, showed Rey wielding a double-sided red lightsaber. Of course, fans online went crazy, some suggesting different theories regarding our protagonist. Some fans hope for more insight with this final trailer.
