Here Are All the ‘Star Wars’ Movies Available for Binge-Watching on Disney+ Before ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ Premieres

This December, the Skywalker saga comes to an end. With The Rise of Skywalker coming out soon, some fans are wondering how they can catch up on Star Wars movies and television shows already released by Disney and Lucasfilm. From The Mandalorian to Star Wars: A New Hope, here’s a look at the Star Wars content available for streaming on Disney+.

The original trilogy (featuring Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford) is available on Disney+

The force is strong with these movies — the films that started a whole movement. During these movies, fans saw Luke Skywalker face the Empire and become the next Jedi master. The original trilogy of Star Wars movies — A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi — is available for streaming on Disney’s subscription service, Disney+.

Additionally, Disney+ offers fans some original and exclusive television shows. One of which is the first live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian. This story takes place after the Empire but before the First Order, complete with a bounty hunter and an adorable “Baby Yoda,” as nicknamed by fans online.

The prequel trilogy is on Disney+, along ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’

Fans returned to the Star Wars universe in 1999. Lucasfilm released a sequel trilogy, explaining how Anakin Skywalker turned to the Dark Side. The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith are all available for streaming on Disney’s platform.

Another “origin story” movie, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, can also be streamed. Additionally, animated series Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars The Clone Wars are available for binge-watching.

‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ will reportedly have its Disney+ premiere Dec. 26, 2019

In 2015, it was time for fans to, again, return to a galaxy far, far away. With the premiere of The Force Awakens, viewers saw characters Rey, Poe, and Finn face a new power threatening the galaxy: Kylo Ren and the First Order. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is available for subscribers to watch on Disney’s streaming platform.

However, the franchise’s 2017 release, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, is not yet streamable on Disney+. According to GameSpot, the second movie in the sequel trilogy will be on Disney+ starting Dec. 26. This is only a few days after the cinematic release of The Rise of Skywalker.

There’s no word regarding when, or if, The Rise of Skywalker will premiere on this subscription service. However, it will presumably skip its Netflix debut and head straight for Disney+. Previously, multiple Star Wars movies were available on Netflix.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres in theaters Dec. 20, 2019.
