Is all Star Wars content available for streaming on Disney+?

Whether you’re a fan of the original trilogy, you’re a Reylo stan, or a little bit of both, there’s plenty of Star Wars content available on Disney+. The prequel trilogy, as well as the original trilogy, are both streamable on this platform. There are also a few spin-off series on Disney+, including Star Wars Rebels and LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales.

There’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Solo: A Star Wars Story. One of the only movies not available on Disney+ is Star Wars: The Last Jedi. According to Screenrant, Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be available on Disney+ starting on Dec. 26, 2019. This comes less than a week after the release of the third movie in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, The Rise of Skywalker. For fans looking to watch the upcoming feature film on the streaming platform, you may be waiting for a little while longer.

There will presumably be a few months before ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ will premiere on Disney+

The Rise of Skywalker will be available in theaters this December. There’s no word regarding if, or when, it will be available on Disney+. Until then, fans can stream episodes of Star Wars’ first live-action television show. New episodes of The Mandalorian premiere on this streaming platform almost every Friday, detailing the story of a lone gunfighter after the fall of the Empire. The first season of this series is available exclusively on Disney+ and was directed in part by Jon Favreau.

“I wanted to do a Star Wars TV show, like The Mandalorian, and pitched it to them and they were very open to it,” Favreau said, according to Collider. “I even wrote four episodes before I even was hired to do it because I was excited as a fan to see what these stories might be and see if they were interested in doing what I was interested in, which they were. And I was actually writing Season 2 this morning before I came here.”

Disney+ is still testing out its release schedule for feature films

There’s no telling when, exactly, Rise of Skywalker will be available on Disney+. Disney is still figuring out the best dates to release new content on their subscription service. The best example of that is Marvel’s 2019 blockbuster, Avengers: Endgame. While the film was initially set to be on Disney+ during December, the company moved up the release date to the streaming platform’s launch date.

There are still Disney movies released in 2019 that are not available on the platform. That includes their live-action adaptation of Aladdin and their photo-real adaptation of The Lion King, as well as Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 4. Additionally, there’s plenty of original Star Wars content to look forward to. That includes an exclusive Obi-Wan Kenobi series, starring Ewan McGregor.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres in theaters on Dec. 20, 2019.
