Since Star Wars: The Last Jedi premiered, fans wondered what would happen next in Rey, Kylo Ren, Finn, and Poe’s story. Well, the wait is almost over. The final trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is almost here. This time, it’s premiering during Monday Night football, on Oct. 21, 2019.

More importantly, this trailer premieres on the birthday of the late Carrie Fisher. This actress portrayed Princess Leia/General Organa and will make an appearance in this upcoming Star Wars film. This would’ve been Carrie Fisher’s 63rd birthday. One Twitter user said, ā€œThe Rise of Skywalker trailer will be [released] on Carrie Fisher’s birthday! The final movie of the Skywalker saga will have its final trailer on the day the actress responsible for playing the heart of this story was born! I wish I could stop crying.ā€

According to CNET, tickets will go on sale from online outlets such as Fandango after the trailer airs. Fans can check movie times for The Rise of Skywalker ahead of the final trailer. (However, this is only an option at select cinemas, including AMC Theaters.)

ā€œIt’s the end of an era, and fans cannot wait to see the epic conclusion to the Skywalker saga that began more than four decades ago,ā€ Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis said in a statement. ā€œā€˜The Rise of Skywalker’ is truly among the biggest and most anticipated films ever, and we are beyond excited to see how this momentous chapter in ā€˜Star Wars’ storytelling nears its end.ā€

When does ā€˜Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ come out?

Unfortunately, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is two months away, premiering in the United States on Dec. 20, 2019. Some movie theaters do early showings on Dec. 19, 2019, while others are doing Star Wars movie marathons ahead of this final film. Still, fans are excited to watch this chapter of the Star Wars sequel trilogy.

Until then, fans can watch movies like Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Disney’s streaming platform, Disney Plus. This subscription service will also hold Star Wars’ first live-action television show, entitled The Mandalorian. Disney Plus launches in the United States on Nov. 12, 2019.
